The vaperettos are on occasions very full. We bought a 2 day (48 hour) pass, which worked on the first day but not on the return journey on the second. Once you download the pnr code from the website you then have to collect the tickets from a machine. To understand how to print the tickets I watched a video on YouTube. Very easy

The process for activating the 7-day ticket needs to be explained more clearly online in advance. At the ticket machine, it took a while to find the relevant information and follow the instructions. Otherwise, it’s very convenient and highly recommended.

Start at any ACTV vaporetto stop in Venice, Lido, or the lagoon islands. Scan your pass at the ticket machine or onboard validator before boarding. You’ll need to revalidate the pass each time you ride. The audio guide works offline—just download it in advance and plug in your earphones as you go.
