In order to utilize contactless stored value cards on JR Kyushu trains and buses, the Sugoca IC card was introduced. Travel across the Kyushu area more quickly and easily without having to deal with currency or making sure you are paying the right cost. You may use the Sugoca IC card in some vending machines, convenience stores, and even restaurants as it comes pre-loaded with JPY 1,500 for transit expenses and JPY 500 for the first deposit. At any Sugoca IC Card refill station, you may top it off.

Important Information

Sugoca cards for children between the age of 0-12 years can be purchased from the ticketing office at Kyushu stations.

The refund of the remaining amount and JPY500 deposit will be made at the ticketing office at JR Kyushu's Gokakado.

You need to bring the physical card for a refund.

Handling fees deducted from the remaining amount will be JPY220.

Sugoca IC cards that have been lost or significantly damaged will not be refunded.

By Bus

The closest bus stop is Fukuoka Airport International Terminal(bus). It is a quick 1-minute walk to the redemption point.
