Ticketing was good. Screen a bit difficult to see in the sun and location indicator didn't work. Maybe better with headphones to hear explanation. Possibly next time would choose a guide to accompanyEric

The history and ability to walk about freely with the audio tour guide perfectly suited our needs. We could go at our own pace and our own destinations within the city. If I can do it over again, I would bring more snacks and drinks to help along the hike, as well as headphones to help with the audio tour. Otherwise, you have to hold the audio guide up to your ear like a phone.Amy

Having tickets in advance means less waiting, but you'll still have to queue to get through security. Tip: go straight to the queue to enter the site, then go straight to the kiosk for the audioguides. Do not continue to queue to get to the ticket office.Wolfgang

The stewards at the entrance sent us to the wrong ticket office despite having pre-booked our ticket online. Waited 1 hour to be sent to another counter. Absolutely unprofessional. Made a large part of our tour impossible.
With an audio guide in hand, step into Pompeii, the ancient Roman city buried by Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD and rediscovered centuries later. As you walk its streets, the audio guide will bring the ruins to life, sharing stories of a civilization that thrived nearly 2,000 years ago. Pick your preferred language—French, English, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, or Chinese—and dive into the history of Pompeii.
From ancient homes and bathhouses to fast-food stalls and open-air theaters, Pompeii was a bustling city. Stroll past fresco-covered walls and statues, and explore its 25 street fountains, four public baths, and countless shops that once kept the town alive.
Looking for more? Opt for Pompeii Plus for access to stunning villas like the Villa of the Mysteries, Villa of Diomedes, and Villa Regina in Boscoreale, along with the Antiquarium, where even more artifacts reveal the story of this lost city.
