Visiting the Paris Catacombs was one of the most memorable adventures of our family trip. Walking through the tunnels was fascinating, and the audio guide made the experience even better. It told the history and stories in a way that kept all of us engaged as we explored. Our daughter was just as interested as we were! It’s an unusual experience that gave us plenty to talk about afterward. Highly recommend it for families looking for something beyond the usual Paris sights.

Last week

We arrived early because we didn't know how long it would take. The tieket taker was very attentive to timed entries, making us and several others wait. We went across the street and enjoyed a snack. At the correct time we got right in. The audioguide worked well and the information provided was very interesting. The overall experoemce stirred up several disturbing emotions - much to think about. My husband, however, found it "creepy."

I loved it because we didn't have to wait in line and it's very easy to get there; we had no trouble getting in. Once inside, they gave us an audio guide. It's a truly excellent activity—highly recommended—and one of the most fascinating stories in France.

What to bring

Comfortable shoes and warm clothing are recommended, as the Catacombs maintain a temperature of around 14°C (57°F) and the tunnels can be slippery.

The Catacombs are not accessible to wheelchair users or those with limited mobility due to numerous stairs (130 steps to enter, 112 steps to exit) and uneven surfaces.
