Getting started

Begin with hotel pickup from Göreme, Ürgüp, Uçhisar, or Çavuşin and travel to the camel safari starting point. On arrival, you receive a safety briefing and riding instructions so you know how to sit, hold on, and communicate with your camel. Once everyone is prepared, your experienced local camel handlers help you mount, and the sunset camel ride departs into the nearby valleys.

This experience is a single continuous route through Cappadocia’s fairy-chimney valleys and volcanic landscapes, timed for sunset light. Across approximately 90 minutes, you follow panoramic trails that look over Red Valley, Rose Valley, and Meskendir Valley, with pauses for photos and views.

• A 90-minute guided camel ride forms the core of the safari, although in rainy weather the ride may be shortened to approximately 60 minutes for safety.
• Throughout the sunset ride with panoramic valley views, your experienced local camel handlers walk alongside the animals, assist with mounting and dismounting, and set a calm, slow-paced rhythm suitable for first-time riders.
• Hotel pickup and drop-off from Göreme, Ürgüp, Uçhisar, and Çavuşin are included, and the outing runs as a small-group experience with a maximum of 10 guests so the group can stay together along the narrow valley trails.
• Before leaving the starting point, you receive a focused safety briefing and riding instructions, then follow a route that includes several scenic photo stops along the way where you can dismount or pause in the saddle for valley and fairy-chimney shots.
• Scenic photo stops along the route are positioned at lookouts with wide views over the surrounding valleys, giving you time to capture the changing colors across the rock formations as the sun goes down.
• Children under 6 can ride free in the same saddle as a parent, sharing a camel under the supervision of the handlers while staying within the same small group.
