I’ve visited quite a few aquariums over the years, but this one is on a completely different level. From the moment you step inside, the outside world seems to disappear. Instead of rushing from one exhibit to another, you naturally slow down and find yourself standing in front of the enormous central tank, completely mesmerized. I must have spent more time there than I planned—and I didn’t regret a single minute. What makes this place special isn’t just the impressive collection of marine life. It’s the feeling it creates. Peaceful, fascinating, and surprisingly emotional. You leave with a greater appreciation for our oceans and everything that lives beneath the surface. If there’s one attraction in Lisbon that I’d visit again without hesitation, it’s this one. An unforgettable experience that deserves every one of its five stars. ★★★★★

I visited the Oceanário with my family recently, and it left a lasting impression on all of us. It’s not just a beautiful place to see incredible marine life, it’s genuinely healing. Watching the fish glide through those massive tanks, surrounded by that calm blue light, has a way of quieting your mind completely. The energy and atmosphere are unlike anywhere else I’ve been. If you're looking to escape Lisbon's hot afternoon sun, the Oceanário de Lisboa is the perfect place to spend a few hours. I first visited when it opened in 1998, and after all these years, it's still just as impressive. The exhibits are beautifully maintained and offer a fascinating glimpse into the underwater world. The massive central aquarium is the highlight. Every viewing window offers a completely different perspective, revealing new species and scenes each time you stop to look. It's a peaceful, immersive experience that's enjoyable for both kids and adults. Highly recommended if you're visiting Lisbon!

What an amazing place! I loved the numerous viewing platforms for the primary exhibit so that there was no overcrowding and so that I could see the exhibit from different levels and perspectives. The information cards on the walls were simple to read but extremely informative and in numerous languages! The route through the aquarium was well labelled with arrows and lights and useful to see every display. This was an amazing visit. Highly recommend!

I liked everything; the aquarium’s setting was very beautiful and recreated the animals’ natural habitats. I saw some animals I’d seen before. What I liked most was how playful and sociable the otters were. I also got to observe how fascinating animal evolution is, as in the case of the seahorses. It’s incredible how animals get used to living together across different species.

The Oceanário, Portugal's largest indoor aquarium is truly a must-see attraction in Lisbon. You’ll catch sight of a variety of marine creatures like big sharks, beautiful manta rays, jellyfish, puffins & much more. The main attraction here is sure to be the otters with their antics making you chuckle away at their adorable ways. You’ll see cute little penguins, octopuses & pretty corals, so get ready to click some amazing pictures. You will also learn how you can contribute to protecting the incredible marine life & about Oceánario’s commendable conservative programs making it a wholesome day full of excitement & learning.

National Palace of Pena

You’ll be awestruck by this architectural genius in Sintra, inspired by a mix of styles like Neo-Gothic & Neo-Renaissance. The impressive 19th - century yellow and red structure crowns the Sintra hills forming Lisbon’s stunning cultural landscape. Be sure to fully admire the intricate details within the palace like the Triton’s Terrace adorned with blue and white. There is an incredible marine and coral-inspired archway with a mythological sculpture of Triton, the Greek god of the Sea. You’ll notice lovely shells, conches & coral designs. From the Courtyard of Arches, you’ll be able to see all the way to the ocean through the walled row of ochre arches on a clear day. The views from the palace are absolutely breathtaking. The interiors have been remodeled to depict the Palace as it was when the Royal family departed in 1910. If you’re into history, you’ll simply love the artifacts in place.

The Park

The park in itself is full of mysteries with its lush forest and exotic plants from all over the world.
