Make your way to the North Shore of Oahu for check-in and a pre-trip briefing. Meet your crew, go over the day’s safety procedures, and get ready for your offshore adventure. Once aboard, the boat heads more than 3 miles into the open Pacific, leaving the coastline behind and taking you to the waters where Galapagos and sandbar sharks are commonly encountered.

Depending on your selected option, observe from a floating cage with large plexiglass viewing windows or take the more immersive route with cage-free open-water shark diving. You’ll learn about Hawaii’s sharks and their place in the local ecosystem and culture while experiencing these animals at close range.

Floating shark cage: For the cage option, enter a surface-level cage from above, allowing you to comfortably access the water while remaining securely enclosed throughout your viewing session.

Galapagos and sandbar sharks: Watch Galapagos and sandbar sharks moving through their natural habitat and observe their size, swimming patterns, and behavior from the water.

What to bring

Essentials: Travel light, as you only need to bring a towel and a few valuables to keep safe.

Personal gear: If you bring your own gear, use a proper mask with snorkel and closed-heel fins unless you have booties.

Sun protection: Apply sunscreen before stepping on the boat, as you will be out on open water.

What’s not allowed

Snorkel gear restrictions: Full-face ninja mask snorkels and body-surf fins are not allowed for safety reasons.

Cameras: Underwater cameras are not allowed.

Additional information

Safety compliance: If you do not follow the gear and safety rules, you may be excluded from the snorkel and tour.

Age requirement: This experience is open to guests aged 5 years and above.

Location: The shark diving trips depart from the North Shore of Oahu.

Scuba experience: You do not need any prior scuba experience to join this activity.

Weather note: Occasional rescheduling may occur if weather or ocean conditions are unsuitable.

Offshore distance: The boat takes you over 3 miles offshore into the open ocean for the dive.

Variant options: If you select the in-cage option, you will view sharks from a floating cage with plexiglass windows.

Open water option: If you select the cage-free option, you will swim in open water near sharks without a cage.
