Vasa Museum Walking into the Vasa Museum was one of the highlights of my trip to Stockholm. Seeing a 17th-century warship preserved in such incredible detail is simply breathtaking. Every deck, every carving, and every exhibit tells a story that brings history to life. The museum is beautifully designed, easy to explore, and full of fascinating information without ever feeling overwhelming. I left inspired, amazed, and already recommending it to everyone I know. An absolute must-visit and truly a world-class museum. The Viking Museum The Viking Museum exceeded all my expectations. Instead of simply displaying artifacts, it immerses you in the fascinating world of the Vikings through engaging storytelling, interactive exhibits, and an unforgettable ride that makes history feel alive. Everything is thoughtfully presented, making it enjoyable for visitors of all ages. The staff were welcoming, the atmosphere was fantastic, and I walked away with a completely new appreciation for Viking culture. Without a doubt, one of Stockholm’s hidden gems. Vrak – Museum of Wrecks Vrak is one of the most unique museums I’ve ever visited. The combination of cutting-edge technology, interactive displays, and captivating stories about the shipwrecks hidden beneath the Baltic Sea creates an unforgettable experience. It’s modern, educational, and surprisingly emotional, showing how every wreck preserves a piece of history waiting to be discovered. If you’re looking for something different in Stockholm, this museum is an absolute masterpiece that deserves far more recognition.

Soooo glad we brought the kids here! Everything is hands-on and the staff are super chill. My daughter got to hold a sword (not sharp lol) and now thinks she’s a Viking queen. The ride at the end is like a mini theme park thing—our 6-year-old was obsessed. Café has cinnamon buns that are actually good. Heads up: can’t take pics inside the ride. Def worth it for families.

I’m not a history buff but this was legit one of my fave museums in Stockholm. It’s not formal at all, and the staff are happy to answer all your random questions. We ended up chatting with a guy about Viking shipbuilding for like 20 mins. The ride was the cherry on top. Wish there were a few more actual objects and less screens, but I still loved it.

Cute little museum, easy to find next to the ferry stop. We had our 5-year-old with us, he loved the sword replicas. Didn’t spend long here (maybe 1.5 hours) but felt like enough. Staff were in costume, which my son thought was hilarious. Only thing—no strollers allowed inside exhibits, so bring a carrier if you have really small kids.
