Getting started

Enter White Water Walk at the attraction entrance and have your ticket checked, then proceed to the elevator area. You take an elevator ride down 70 metres to the base of the Niagara Gorge, followed by a short tunnel to reach the river level. From here, you step directly onto the boardwalk to begin your self-guided experience along the Niagara River.

This experience takes place inside Niagara Parks at White Water Walk, set at the base of the Niagara Gorge beside the Niagara River's Whirlpool Rapids. You explore independently along a quarter-mile boardwalk and riverside viewing platforms, with interpretive information about the gorge, its geology and its wildlife.

• Walk the quarter-mile boardwalk along the Niagara River right beside the Whirlpool Rapids, observing Class 6 whitewater and the steep rock walls of the Niagara Gorge at close range.

• Start and end your visit via the elevator ride down 70 metres to the base of the Niagara Gorge, which brings you from street level to the river’s edge without needing to hike the cliff.
