To make the most of your visit, arrive early—last admission is 30 minutes before closing (5:30pm from Thursday to Monday and 7:30pm on Wednesdays).

Enter through Maria-Theresien-Platz and take the main staircase up to the entrance area, where you’ll find the cash desk. Your meeting point is inside at the information desk in the entrance hall (Unterer Kuppelsaal), where your guide will be waiting 15 minutes before your tour starts.

Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times while inside the museum.

Access to the roof terrace is only permitted for visitors aged 12 and over.

Most visitors begin on the ground floor, so starting on the upper levels (especially in the morning) gives you a quieter experience in the fossil, anthropology, and meteorite halls.

Lockers are free to use, but a 1-euro coin deposit is required, which is returned when you unlock them.

Strollers are allowed, but during busy times, staff may ask you to park them in designated areas to avoid congestion.

The café, located beneath the central dome, serves hot meals, pastries, and drinks, and is open daily except Tuesdays.
