The building’s overall silhouette evokes the wing of a falcon in flight—here, the architecture functions as part of the narrative, not merely as a shell. The exhibition is structured around the figure of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan—the founder of the UAE—and this gives the museum a completely different emotional tone compared to traditional history museums. Six permanent galleries take visitors through 300,000 years of the region’s history—from Paleolithic stone tools to the formation of the modern state. A particular highlight is the 18-meter-long replica of a bronze boat, recreated using traditional techniques, along with a collection of personal items and archival materials that make history tangible rather than abstract. In front of the museum lies Al Masar Garden, where the landscape is divided into desert, oasis, and urban zones. A stroll through the garden is a rare occasion when the museum experience begins outdoors rather than at the entrance to the exhibition hall. The visit culminated at the observation deck—in the evening, when the city’s lights had already begun to come on. We really enjoyed our visit to the Natural History Museum in Abu Dhabi. The entry process was smooth and easy. The interiors were calm and relaxing. The displays were well placed and there were interactive stations which were very interesting and informative. Our time was well spent there and we did not realize that we had spent quite a few hours in the museum. We are looking forward to going back with our grandchildren

Opened in November 2025 on Saadiyat Island, and it's already the Middle East's biggest natural history institution — and it shows. The atrium alone is worth the ticket: five massive sauropod skeletons — Diplodocus, Brachiosaurus, Camarasaurus, and a Barosaurus — greet you like a welcoming committee from the Jurassic. The star attraction is Stan, the famous T. rex, staged in a dramatic battle scene with another T. rex — a genuine fossil, not a cast, and it's stunning up close. What sets this museum apart is its regional lens: an entire gallery walks you through Abu Dhabi seven million years ago, when the desert was a lush savannah roamed by four-tusked elephants. It's a side of natural history you won't find told this way anywhere else. The scale (35,000 sqm) means you need a full half-day, maybe more. Interactive displays and digital tools keep kids engaged, and the design — meant to echo natural rock formations — makes the building itself part of the experience.

Visiting the Zayed National Museum was truly an unforgettable experience. As a first-timer, I was genuinely impressed by the museum's beautiful layout, thoughtful design, and the exceptional attention to detail in every exhibit. It offers a wonderful journey through the rich history, culture, and vision of the UAE. We brought a guest from Thailand, and he was genuinely grateful that we included the museum in his Abu Dhabi itinerary. He thoroughly enjoyed the visit and was amazed by everything the museum had to offer. I would definitely come back and bring more of our guests here. Visiting this museum was truly an unforgettable experience. Everything about it felt magical, from the incredible exhibits to the atmosphere that made every moment special I traveled all the way from Bahrain specifically to visit this museum, and it was absolutely worth the trip. I learned so much during my visit, and it was amazing to see in person many of the things I had previously read about. The museum gave me a deeper understanding and left me with new knowledge that I’ll always remember I honestly can’t recommend this place enough. I only wish I had more time because there was so much to explore. I hope to visit again in the future for another incredible experience,I definitely couldn’t get enough!

I was able to book and receive my ticket in real time. I purchased on my drive to Abu Dhabi and didn't even check again as I knew my tickets would be in my app when I get there. The Museum was a great choice, it looks unappealing outside and the pictures I usually see online were just dinosaurs bones, I thought it was just for children. But it was for everyone, well curated pieces and documented to teach about civilization, evolving into the future. I loved the area dealing with climate change and the artwork, images and technology used throughout. Yes there were lab rooms and challenges at every stage to engage the youth and give a hands on experience for them. Great for adults too.
