Hello everyone,
I loved visiting this museum, it is very large and interesting!
I recommend it if you ever don't know what to do in Abu Dhabi, and in terms of value for money, it's really worth it!
Too crowded during the visits, though, but it's manageable.
The LEGO exhibition is also well done and included in the price, but it's temporary, so definitely check it out too (it's geared more toward kids, though)!

The museum was quite busy when we went on a weekend in September. We had to park in an overflow car park but the shuttle bus was efficient. The museum itself is well designed with good exhibits and a nice restaurant. I would go back.

The exhibition is structured around the figure of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan—the founder of the UAE—and this gives the museum a completely different emotional tone compared to traditional history museums. Six permanent galleries take visitors through 300,000 years of the region’s history—from Paleolithic stone tools to the formation of the modern state. A particular highlight is the 18-meter-long replica of a bronze boat, recreated using traditional techniques, along with a collection of personal items and archival materials that make history tangible rather than abstract.
In front of the museum lies Al Masar Garden, where the landscape is divided into desert, oasis, and urban zones. A stroll through the garden is a rare occasion when the museum experience begins outdoors rather than at the entrance to the exhibition hall.
The visit culminated at the observation deck—in the evening, when the city’s lights had already begun to come on. The panoramic view of Abu Dhabi from above looks completely different at this hour: the austere architecture of the daytime gives way to soft golden-blue lighting, and the entire journey—from ancient artifacts to the modern metropolis outside the window — suddenly comes together into a single narrative of how the past flows into the present.
I definitely recommend setting aside at least 3–4 hours for your visit and planning it so that it ends in the evening—the view from the observation deck is well worth it.

The entry did not go smoothly as there had been problems with both the barcode provided and the app. But a quick call and the subsequent response had been quick, and we did get to enjoy the day. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed talking in particular to one staff from "The Story of Earth", who spoke with us in detail about the origins, including the moon and space artifacts. The dinosaur displays were awesome, and the hunt for hidden tardigrades was very interesting.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Natural History Museum in Abu Dhabi. The entry process was smooth and easy. The interiors were calm and relaxing. The displays were well placed and there were interactive stations which were very interesting and informative. Our time was well spent there and we did not realize that we had spent quite a few hours in the museum. We are looking forward to going back with our grandchildren
