CoupleVerified booking3 weeks ago4/5This is a lovely place. Peaceful and not crowded when we were there. So nice to not have a "timed" ticket. I wish there was more information on the people who lived there through time because it is clearly an important place. What is special about it is that people actually lived there, and it feels that way. There is a lot of restoration happening and when it is finished it will be a really special place.RRomina B
CoupleVerified bookingLast week5/5This palace, steeped in history and filled with original artifacts, lets you soak up the atmosphere of royal history. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re passing through Sintra.TT. Gollinger
CoupleVerified bookingMay 20265/5The National Palace of Sintra is very varied and unique, with specifically moorish elements and characteristic rooms. All the more surprising that it is much less frequented than the more popular National Palace of Pena, which is more spectacular from the outside due to colorful makeup and location, but much less interesting from the inside!MMichael K
CoupleVerified bookingMay 20265/5The building was rather sparsely furnished, with the exception of one room. There are much better places to visit in Portugal. In my opinion, it wasn't worth the money.RRouault P

A combo that gives you access to two of Portugal’s most visually stunning and historically rich palaces, these are two attractions you cannot miss on your visit to the country.
National Palace of Sintra
At the Palace of Sintra, you can explore over 1,000 years of Portuguese history. The palace is immediately discernible by its two conical chimneys - a characteristic trait of Sintra itself. With its richly decorated rooms, galleries, and corridors, it was a favorite for a succession of Portuguese royal families and their retinues, right until the end of the monarchy in 1910.
Spend your time marveling at how the natural landscape was used to merge Manueline, Gothic, and Mudejar designs. The windows with surmounted arches and walls covered in glazed tiles of geometric patterns are a testament to medieval brushwork and craftsmanship.
National Palace of Queluz & Gardens
As one of the last great Rococo buildings to be designed in Europe, the National Palace of Queluz is a heritage site that you cannot miss on your visit to Portugal. A walk through the magnificent palace will take you back to a time of regal balls and stately dinners. Gasp at the lavish interiors of the Throne Room, where the royalty used to receive their guests.
The entire room is decorated with gold carvings, ornate mirrors, and large paintings, giving you a sneak peek into how the Portuguese monarchy used to live back in the day. See relics like the Princess’s Apartments, the Ambassador’s Room, and the Music Hall.
After a tour inside the palace, explore the over 16 hectares of gardens outside the palace. Wander among ponds, fountains, and statues inspired by classical mythology, the most famous of which is the Fountain of Neptune.
