Scuba Diving with Sharks

Diving with Sharks is an adrenaline top 10, and a 2-hr scuba diving experience at National Aquarium is the ideal place to swim with the sharks. Certified scuba divers can go head-to-head with sand tiger sharks, stingrays, and hundreds of marine animals.

If you are a novice scuba diver, your expedition begins with a PADI-certified training session at the largest aquarium in the Middle East. You'll learn the basics of using the respirator, underwater hand signals, and swimming techniques. Your instructor will guide you as you submerge up to 1 meter and gradually descend deeper for 45 minutes, exploring the ethereal riches of sea life.

Certified divers can skip training and dive straight into the deep blue waters of the stingray habitat, followed by the shark tank housing more than 200 sharks. The surreal experience of swimming alongside oceanic predators is sure to get your heart racing. Non-certified divers can dive into the main aquarium tank and get their pictures clicked underwater as they swim through schools of Butterflyfish, Sea Dragons, Moray Eels, and Octopuses, among others. Swim through the ruins of a sunken ship and encounter colorful fishes darting in and out of the wreckage.

Stroll through National Aquarium

Take a break from diving and stroll through the longest underwater tunnel to witness exotic birds and cute puffins in their icy enclosure. The aquarium features displays of mammals, amphibians, and reptiles, including a seven-meter-long reticulated python. Visitors can hand-feed sharks and explore the rainforest, frozen ocean, and other zones during the 2-hour tour for an unforgettable experience.

Important Information

Children aged 10-17 years must be accompanied by their legal guardian on the day of the scuba diving experience. However, the legal guardian won't be able to witness the scuba dive unless they purchase a General Admission ticket.

All divers must be medically fit and should not be taking any medication, in case you are taking any medications, you must present a doctor's clearance to participate.

Participants must refrain from flying or going over 300m (Burj Khalifa tower) for 12 hours post-dive.

One group can accommodate a maximum of 4 divers.

Guests must sign and complete a Dive Medical Participant Questionnaire and a Liability Release and Risk Assessment form before participating in scuba diving.

Non-certified divers need to report two hours prior to the dive.

Certified divers need to report one hour prior to the dive.

It is recommended to bring along your swimwear, towel, waterproof camera, or GoPro.

Certified divers are people who have completed a PADI open water course in the past or have any other diving certificates.

Certified divers must present a soft copy of their scuba-diving certification at check-in. Failure to do so will downgrade their experience to the non-certified scuba dive without a refund of the difference.

While diving do not put your hand in the shark’s mouth, don’t swim away on your own, and don’t try to corner the animals.

Restrictions

This experience is restricted for guests aged 10 years and under.

As part of this experience, non-certified divers are restricted to the main aquarium tank and are not permitted to enter the shark tank.
