Pro tips to help you make a pick

Choose a pre-booked timed ticket for weekends, holidays, and peak periods. It usually lets you skip the onsite ticket-purchase queue, but every visitor still goes through security.

About Museo Egizio

One of the world's largest collections of Egyptian artifacts outside Egypt gives Museo Egizio unusual range, from monumental sculpture to papyri and domestic objects. The museum stands out for showing intact tomb groupings such as Kha and Merit alongside the relocated Temple of Ellesija, so visitors see burial contexts and architecture as well as isolated objects.

Did you know?

Museo Egizio traces its modern origin to 1824, when the King of Sardinia acquired a large collection of Egyptian antiquities.

Why visit Museo Egizio?

One of the World's Largest Collections

Museo Egizio is known for one of the world's largest collections of ancient Egyptian artifacts, spanning over three millennia of history. The galleries move from predynastic and early dynastic material to Greco-Roman pieces, with papyri, royal mummies, sarcophagi, jewelry, tools, and domestic objects all part of the same visit.

Plan your visit

Main Entrance - Via Accademia delle Scienze 6

Located at street level on Via Accademia delle Scienze 6, this is the museum’s main public entrance and the only clearly documented visitor access point. It serves individual visitors, groups, timed-ticket holders, and walk-up visitors. The entrance is signed “Museo Egizio.” Expect a security check and ticket verification here; staff scan printed or mobile tickets after security. Pre-booked tickets can skip the onsite ticket-purchase queue, but not screening. The main access into the lobby is level or ramped, though detailed accessibility features beyond that are not clearly published.

If I can say anything about this guided tour I will say this: GET GIADA!! I was expecting just a nice simple tour to see some cool artifacts but I was so enthralled by her knowledge and interpersonal skills. I would have loved another tour with her in the other parts of the museum. I felt like we really experienced so much in two hours and she was not only extremely educated on all things Egyptian, but also sensitive about human remains which was very thoughtful. Get this tour!! You will not be disappointed...unless maybe you don't love great experiences.😏 Again, get GIADA!!
