Enjoy a trek at 1,900 meters above sea level

Depart from Catania in a comfortable vehicle that will take you as far as 1,900 meters above sea level till Rifugio Sapienza. Meet your guide and start one of the easiest and most accessible hikes to the inactive Silvestri Craters. Spend some time at the craters that were formed as a result of an eruption in 1892. If the conditions are safe, you will also visit a lava cave, where you can see tunnels formed by lava flows. Flashlights and helmets will be provided for added safety.

Get a taste of Sicilian delicacies

All the exploration will have surely worked up your appetite. Head back down to Rifugio Sapienza where you can indulge in tasting some typical Sicilian local products before making your way back to Catania.

The tour is available in the morning or at sunset so that you can admire great views and atmosphere no matter the time you choose.
