Exploring the north side of Mt. Etna

Your tour will start with a pickup by a Jeep WD4X4 driver from your hotel in Taormina. Afterward, you will depart for the Etna district, and along the way, you'll get to see different landscapes and beautiful villages. Your first stop will be at Piano Provenzana, located 1800 meters above sea level. Here, you will have the opportunity to see the ex-Betulle hotel, which was partially covered by lava due to the eruption in 2002. The area is a stunning combination of green pine forests, dark lava stones, and vibrant natural colors, accompanied by delightful scents.

Hiking, lava caves, and lunch

Your Mt. Etna guided tour will include a moderate hiking trip, where you'll get to see the lava front of the 2002 eruption and a lava cave. Additionally, you'll get to explore the side craters characterized by seven small, aligned eruptive cones called "buttonholes." Afterward, you'll enjoy a rustic lunch in a local restaurant that includes a variety of delicious starters like salami, cheese, and seasonal vegetables, followed by a taste of pasta and dessert. The lunch will be accompanied by local wine and mineral water.
