GroupVerified booking4 days ago4/5The Palace was beautiful but was a little crowded. The Moorish Castle was amazing! It felt like I went back in time! The "hop on, hope off" bus was frustrating and made me angry. We were told one would come every 10 min but we aired at least 20-30m at the moorish castle and when it arrived it was full and only able to fit 5 people as 5had gotten off. We stopped for lunch at the historic center and when we tried to get on a bus to go back to the trajin station that was just sitting there we were told it was reserved and we would have to wait. We decided to walk back and still beat the bus. Over all it was a waste of money. Get and uber or another car for the one way up and walk down if you are able. I wish I could have got a refund as they certainly did not fulfill their advertised deal!AAlina R

The exterior is spectacular and the views are incredible, but the crowds can take away some of its charm. It’s worth seeing at least once for the unique atmosphere and for the photos. Quinta da Regaleira I found Quinta da Regaleira to be more special. It doesn’t impress with its grandeur, but with its mystery. The tunnels, gardens, and the Initiation Well give you the feeling that you’re uncovering a hidden secret. It’s one of those places that stays with you long after you leave. If I had to choose just one, I’d go back to Regaleira. Pena impressed me, but Regaleira enchanted me.PPepijn S
SoloVerified booking2 days ago5/5The castles Pena and quinta da regaleira were amazing to visit. Pena is a bit more focussed on just the castle. Quinta da regaleira is a whole experience with a beautiful garden to get lost in. It is worth it to walk from train station Cintra towards Pena, amazing walk of like 35min. You can easily walk to Regaleira from Pena as well. And if you dont feel like it the carts pendeling over there are pretty cheap. Anyways worth a visit for sure!!!!IIffly A
GroupVerified bookingJun 20264/5We loved the Pena Palace. It was magnificent despite the fog and the cold in June. However, we couldn’t go to Quinta da Regaleira. The police had blocked the entrance. A tuk-tuk or private car costs €10 per person; there were four of us, so it would have been €80 for the round trip, which is outrageous. One of us has a disability, so it was impossible to walk up. Bottom line: we couldn’t take the tour even though we had tickets. Very disappointed.MManuel G
CoupleVerified bookingLast week5/5The fastest and best way to get there is to use the transportation options available throughout the city, whether it’s a tuk-tuk or a shared ride; the drivers are very friendly and will give you useful tips on what to see and how to plan your visits. The park is amazing, and the palace is SPLENDID—though there were some lines and a bit of a wait since it was early July—but it’s definitely worth the visit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you’re in the Lisbon area.

Jerónimos Monastery
A historic church built to commemorate Vasco Da Gama's voyage to India, Jerónimos Monastery is a stunning model of Manueline architecture incorporating Gothic, Moorish, and Renaissance styles. The two levels of cloisters are so structurally detailed that they took a hundred years to be completed! See mythical creatures like gargoyles and marine animals within the carvings, columns, and arches. Tiled decorations on the walls depict important Biblical stories. In the courtyard garden, you will find hedges cut in the shape of various Portuguese coats of arms and a large decorative fountain.
After you have explored the monastery to its fullest, head next door to the imposing Belém Tower.
Belém Tower
The tower has long been a symbol of Portugal’s history, culture, and heritage. Officially called the ‘Tower of Saint Vincent’ in honor of Lisbon’s patron saint, this 16th-century fortification has kept a watchful eye on the city over the centuries. Keep an eye out for crosses of the Order of Christ, twisted ropes that wind around the building ending in elegant knots, armillary spheres, and other Gothic features. The Tower consists of four stories that you can explore: the Governor's Room, Kings' Room, Audience Room, and the vaulted chapel.
National Palace of Pena and Park
The impressive Palace is perched atop a rocky peak - the 2nd highest vantage point on the Sintra Hills. We recommend you pull out your cameras and snap away! After you take in the ravishing views from the Tagus River to the Atlantic Ocean, go through both wings of the palace. Each one is ringed with an architectural structure of a castle, and decked with battlements, watchtowers, and a drawbridge. End your tour at the magnificent Pena Park, embellished with quaint pavilions, meandering paths, and stone benches.
