This place, which I actually had never heard of before visiting Portugal, was an absolute pleasure and a "must see" for anyone visiting Lisbon. Just the trip up the hillside to the castle entrance, including a quick swing through the city of Sintra, was just beautiful. And the castle itself was breath taking. In addition, the logistics were easy to do. Our on-line ticket purchase the day before allowed us an early entry before the site became too crowded. We opted to walk up the hill (there is a shuttle for those who can' or don't wish to make the climb) and found the walk through the surrounding park to be wonderful. Arriving at the castle entry was easy and a self-guided tour allowed us to enjoy whatever aspects of the castle we wanted to see. Something we'd not seen before. Visitors can scan a QR code at the entrance (bring your mobile phone!) and download descriptions of each room, without having to fuss with the headsets and players typically in use. This made the excursion that more enjoyable. As mentioined, if you're in Lisbon, don't miss the chance to visit. It's important to do this with a tour bus or a private (tourguide) car. Parking in the area is nearly non-existent, and it's best to have someone else worry about transportation for you.

We had such a lovely experience at Pema Palace and Park in Sintra. The place has a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere, and the beautiful surroundings make it feel like a little escape from the busier parts of Sintra. What really stood out was the warmth and hospitality. Everything felt relaxed and genuine, and we enjoyed simply taking our time and soaking in the surroundings. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, breathe, and enjoy the moment. A wonderful spot to visit if you’re in Sintra — highly recommended!

From booking tickets, to receiving them, to arrival at the Palace, everything was easy and exactly as described. The directions and explanation of the walk from the entrance up to the palace was just as expected.... The Palace itself is beyond what the pictures show... stunning views and history! I would recommend this stop. From Lisbon it was an easy train ride. We then purchased return bus ride to the entrance - which is unlimited stops for the day and a hop on hop off for the area. Well Worth it.

We loved visiting Belém! The Jerónimos Monastery is simply impressive; the architecture and rich details are enchanting. The Belém Tower is lovely and well worth a visit. The waterfront is beautiful, so set aside a little time to stroll and enjoy the view. And of course, a stop to try the famous Pastel de Belém was a must. Unmissable. Simply the best!!!

Both lines were super easy to navigate. The customer service was great - when I first booked, the website accidentally charged me twice, but a representative was able to help correct the duplicate online ticket order immediately. Highliy reccommend visiting.

Both palaces were amazing. Make sure to have a big enough gap between the 2 bookings so as not to rush either. The initiation well at Quinta da Regaleira was a highlight between the 2 as well as the inside of Pena Palace

Seeing the palace was nice however be prepared for long lines and barley an opportunity to get a photo becaue there are so many people. We don't even get all the way to the castle on this trip because the cafe was closed and we couldn't hike anymore without getting water. It is beautiful however bring water, wear comfortable sneakers and be prepared to wait in long lines to get in and get on the bus

Booking through Headout went super well, the app is simple to use, and you often get discounts the more you book through it, so we booked all of our activities in Portugal through it. Regarding the Pena Palace: The inside of the palace didn't really blow us away personally, but the huge park around it made up for it. There is so much to discover there, and you can spend many hours there.

The Jerónimos Monastery is a truly beautiful and impressive place. Its architecture and historical atmosphere make it a must-see when visiting Lisbon. It attracts many visitors and is an important part of the city’s cultural heritage and tourism. The visit was very enjoyable, and the monastery definitely adds a lot to the charm and appeal of Lisbon.

The actual palace was really interesting and very beautiful. The amount of time spent queuing outside and then again inside despite have pre booked tickets was disappointing and annoying. We felt overwhelmed by the crowds and felt there were too many people admitted at one time and this took the edge off the day.

Access to the site from the parking lot by bus is very convenient. On the other hand, it would have been important to know that taking the shuttle would have made it easier to get to the reception area. That being said, the visit to the Palace is well worth it. It is a very interesting historical site to visit.
