Floating above the harbor on the Singapore Cable Car feels less like transportation and more like a slow-motion postcard. One minute you’re in the city, the next you’re gliding toward Sentosa with ships scattered below like toy boats in a bathtub. The cabins are surprisingly smooth and quiet, giving you plenty of time to snap photos—or pretend you’re starring in your own travel documentary. The views stretch from lush green hills to glittering skyscrapers, with a dash of thrill when you remember you’re suspended high above the water. It’s equal parts scenic and slightly daring, in the best way. If you’re heading to Sentosa anyway, skip the ordinary commute. Take the sky route. It turns “getting there” into one of the highlights of the day.

It’s not what I liked the most, but it’s my experience: I purchased this combo with the understanding that on those days I would be able to visit both Domes in the gardens. However, when we arrived, we found that the Cloud Forest Dome was closed for maintenance. When I bought the tickets, it stated that it would close on 03/02, not 02/02. As compensation, they offered us access to the skywalk among the garden trees. In terms of value, this did not make up for it, and it was disappointing not to be able to visit the Cloud Forest, which was one of the things I was most looking forward to. They also did not offer the option to visit the next morning, even though I was leaving Singapore afterwards.

Well I booked tickets online for my wife and I and two grandchildren to take the Mount Faber Line cable car from Mount Faber station to Sentosa Island, having promised my grandson I would take him on it. Booking was really straightforward; reciving QR codes for each person. We wennt on a Saturday morning and there was no queuing. QR scanned and on we went. It's quite a long ride and the children loved it especially when we passed over a cruise ship moored below.

It's an amazing experience. Things are very smooth since booking to final Cable car experience. The world seems so beautiful with loved ones from the top without even 0.00000001% risk. That much safety precaution it's been taken. I urge everyone to experience this when they visit Singapore and book it through headout without any hustle. You app was fairly easy to navigate, but your actual tickets were ambiguous in wording and did not provide adequate time for the visit. The ticket heading included Floral Fantasy, but small print did not, so we weren't allowed in. And one day for a combo ticket is not enough time for all the venues. Buying directly from Gardens by the Bay allows a larger timeframe within which to complete the visit, a much more realistic and relaxed experience.

Getting in was quick and easy. It was just a shame that regular visitors aren’t allowed on the top floor (the 57th floor). The view from there is breathtaking. But it’s reserved for the hotel’s wealthy guests. I don’t like the fact that there’s a two-tier system in place.

The site is exceptional, but it's a shame that you have to stand up and can't sit down. If you wanted to have a drink in a bar, you had to go back down and pay again to get there. The view is magnificent, but I find the price/service ratio excessive.

No standing in a que for a ticket. The process of buying a ticket is very easy to do. Pretty good views of the city and the gardens by the bay especially if you go for the post 5pm ticket as you see the city light up and the night display at the gardens. There can be large crowds here.

Two ways to see Singapore’s skyline in one booking: a rooftop observation deck above Marina Bay, and a scenic cable car ride between the city and Sentosa.

Getting started

Start at either attraction. At Marina Bay Sands SkyPark, show your ticket at the entrance, complete the security check, and take the elevator up to the deck. For the cable car, scan or validate your ticket at any Mount Faber Line station and keep a photo ID handy.

What to expect

You step out onto a huge rooftop deck high above the bay, with space to wander and pick your angle. The view is wide and unobstructed, so you’re constantly orienting yourself by the curve of Marina Bay and the city’s waterfront.
