The atmosphere was really energetic, in the lobby and during the show. The seats we had were right infront of the track so we felt the wind from the actors zooming past us. It was also the place where multiple scripted crashes happened and there was steam that erupted from the ground in front of us. Hydra and Tassita talked with us when they were there, best part. All in all it was and is the best and my favourite show I've seen.

We went to see the original show at the Apollo theatre in Victoria, which must have been at least 38 years ago and what a difference it is now, the visual affects and music is truly wonderful and would recommend it to everyone especially if you have teenagers children and I don't think there is a bad seat in theatre, the way it's been designed. Well done Andrew Lloyd Webber and your crew.

Starlight Express is a must-see. There is no other musical like it anywhere. I saw it 40 years ago and always dreamed of seeing it again and showing it to my loved ones. I finally did it. London plus Starlight Express is a must. Phenomenal artists and performance.

It was simply a happy place to be. Everyone including the actors, staff, and audience were just happy to be there to enjoy this classic performance. We have seen it before in the 90s but the stage work, lighting and costumes are so much better. Loved it. Glad I didn't miss it. I booked for the night before but couldn't make it, so bought tickets again for the next night so it cost me twice as much to come but no regrets there. Thanks for such a great evening.

The musical was truly impressive—there was absolutely nothing to complain about in terms of sound and lighting, and the view from the various seats was excellent. The only criticism concerns the room temperature—despite wearing a winter jacket, it was still very cold and uncomfortable.

There is not really a bad seat in the theatre as the cast on roller skates. A very vibrant production with unbelievable staging and lighting. Very easy booking and had a chance to visit nearby Wembley stadium at the same time. Took the train from Kensington.
  • Andrew Lloyd Webber's Starlight Express is returning with a fresh take from director Luke Sheppard (& Juliet, The Little Big Things). In Webber's Tony and Olivier-nominated masterpiece, trains come alive in a high-octane race for glory. Enjoy favorites like Pumping Iron and Only He (or Only You), alongside some exciting updates – including a feminist twist on a beloved song. This revival of Starlight Express holds a deeper meaning for Lloyd Webber, a heartfelt tribute to his late son whose childhood love of trains sparked the show's creation. Don't miss this chance to experience a timeless classic reimagined for a new generation!

    The story

Rusty, a brave steam engine, finds himself locked in a high-stakes competition against Greaseball, a ruthless diesel spewing fumes of arrogance, and Electra, a sleek electric powerhouse. Their ultimate prize? The coveted affection of Pearl, a glamorous observation car. But amidst the screech of metal wheels and the roar of engines, a deeper question lingers: can a love story survive in a world obsessed with speed and victory? Will Rusty defy the odds and capture Pearl's heart? Book your tickets to Starlight Express in London and discover the answer for yourself.

The show is very good, everything is a little smaller, so you can actually see well from every seat. Except for the back right and left, I would say you can't go wrong. Some of the songs or parts of them are a little loud, which is a bit unpleasant. But that's only a small percentage, so it doesn't significantly detract from the experience :). I think the foyer is poorly designed. It's very small, with hardly any places to sit. Admission is two hours before the show, so you either have to be there early to get a seat or limit yourself to arriving half an hour before, when the doors open. It's not really possible to sit together comfortably beforehand. The prices for drinks and snacks are okay, London level, i.e., you pay the same everywhere else. Drinks and popcorn are allowed in the auditorium, but hot food is not.
