You can also change reservation time later e.g. if flight is delayed. Added benefit you immediately have ticket QR code valid for entry. Note the airport trains always come from platforms 23 and 24.

The Leonardo Express is really fantastic. Very easy to find when you get off the plane. If you miss your timeslot, no worries you can just take the next one. Every 15 minutes a train leaves to Rome. When you get in there are enough seats to sit comfortably during the trip. After about 32 minute you arrive in Rome at the big station Termini, in the middle of the city.

Since our flight was delayed, we missed the train we had bought a ticket for. The staff member let us board the next train without much explanation or an additional charge. A very convenient connection between the airport and Rome's Termini Station

The rain station is within the airport, well signed and easy to find. The platforms have very good information screens showing where the train is going and the departure time. The train left on schedule. There are excellent luggage racks.

The bus from Rome back to the airport was fine, but when we arrived, we found that it wasn't running, and we had to wait in long lines to catch a bus.

Rome Termini Railway Station is conveniently located in the center of the city allowing you multiple options to explore from here. You can take the exit onto Via Marsala to the right side, Via Giolitti to the left, or Piazza Dei Cinquecento straight away. And, if Rome Termini is not your final destination, it is super easy to catch a taxi or go for Metro lines A and B. You can also find options for various bus routes from this point.
