There was good coverage of information about the city by the guide. It was very useful to be able to get off the bus and then get back on when it suited us. We used the Hop On Hop Off bus at the start of our holiday to get a good idea of where we would like to go back to, for a better look on another day. Would definitely recommend.

For the outbound trip, I was told to book earlier, but since my flight was arriving, I didn’t know what time I’d actually be there, so I tried to take the earlier train, but that cost me an extra €5 per passenger—I think that’s a bit excessive. For the return trip, I couldn’t book a morning train for the mid-afternoon; the schedules only showed up when I tried to confirm, and it said “sold out.” It wasn’t showing anymore, then suddenly came back, but when I tried to confirm, it was “sold out” again.

Our flight was delayed by 30 minutes so by the time we got through a busy security we had missed our planned rail trip. It is a shame that these tickets could not be open to handle this situation. We were able to pay an additional 5 euro per ticket on the train to travel on the outdated tickets but this was an unnecessary stress after 42 hours of Travel from New Zealand.

Very convenient, clean, comfortable, and a quick way to get to the center of Rome and back to the airport. Since our flight was delayed by an hour and we had booked our tickets in advance for a specific time slot, we had to pay an additional fee of €5 per person. Buy your ticket on-site or simply swipe your credit card at the gate terminal to access the lanes.

The quickest alternative to all public transportation options, including lines to Florence and Naples, and when you land at the Airport, move to the station within the premises and catch the train which leaves every 15 mins.

Rome Termini Railway Station is conveniently located in the center of the city allowing you multiple options to explore from here. You can take the exit onto Via Marsala to the right side, Via Giolitti to the left, or Piazza Dei Cinquecento straight away. And, if Rome Termini is not your final destination, it is super easy to catch a taxi or go for Metro lines A and B. You can also find options for various bus routes from this point.
