This cruise was such a relaxing and enjoyable way to experience New Orleans. What really stood out was the captain taking time throughout the ride to explain local history, landmarks, and stories along the Mississippi River, it made the journey feel personal and informative rather than just a sightseeing trip. The live jazz added the perfect New Orleans vibe, and the views along the river were beautiful and peaceful. The onboard bar was well stocked, and the Carnival cocktail is a must-try, refreshing and perfect for the ride. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was comfortable, and everything felt well organized. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a classic, authentic New Orleans experience.

I was thrilled to include this two-hour cruise in my birthday weekend itinerary! From the peaceful glide of the water to the smooth sounds of the live jazz band, every moment felt like a breath of fresh air. The captain’s fascinating history lessons as we cruised along the river added the perfect New Orleans touch. It was a much-needed pause from our busy schedule—and the food? Absolutely delicious and well worth the upgraded tickets. I can’t recommend this experience enough for anyone planning a New Orleans trip!

Ho apprezzato molto questa mini crociera lungo il Mississippi. Molto organizzata con tante persone a bordo ma molto rilassante e accompagnata da una buona musica jazz suonata dal vivo da un piccolo gruppo locale. un'esperienza bella e indimenticabile trascorsa con la famiglia e che consiglio fermamente. All'interno del battello c'è anche un bar che serve bibite che puoi, una volta acquistate, ricaricare gratuitamente quante volte vuoi. Sono rimasto soddisfatto dell'esperienza.

Leaning about the Mississippi River, the area we set sail from aftermath of Katrina's devastation and the re-build of that area (former docks) being made into beautiful parks. The tour guide was informative and me and my family enjoyed the steamboat experience.

How many times have I told you? It was a real zippety Doodah! It was our third run on the Natchez/City of New Orleans (and come to find out we had been aboard the CONO years ago when it was posing as a casino upriver in Iowa/Illinois.)

I really liked several aspects of the cruise: 1) the live jazz trio, 2) the relaxing pace of the cruise, 3) the guided narration about the river, city, history, 4) the hospitality of the crew.

Cruise the mighty Mississippi for two hours, with live jazz, signature drinks, and incredible New Orleans scenery—especially from the newly enhanced top deck. After a brief introduction, you’re free to explore the vessel and settle in for departure.

What to expect

This vessel continues the tradition of classic river cruising, offering a unique perspective on New Orleans’ riverfront and history.

Features

Live Jazz music: Musicians will perform traditional jazz onboard, a hallmark of New Orleans culture and a highlight of every cruise.

Panoramic River views: Enjoy sweeping views of the Mississippi River and the city skyline from multiple decks as you cruise past popular New Orleans sites, including the Crescent City Connection and St. Louis Cathedral.

What to bring

Shirts and shoes are required on all cruises. While casual attire is fine, we recommend you turn up in “dressy casual” for the Dinner Jazz Cruise. Switch your jeans for some dress pants or a skirt and a blouse or a stylish top. Men can zhuzh it up with a collared shirt (button-down or polo).

What's not allowed

This vessel is completely non-smoking, including all indoor areas and outer decks.

Accessibility

This experience is wheelchair and pram/stroller accessible.

Your guide dogs are welcome at the venue.

Additional Information

Depending on demand and private events, the Steamboat NATCHEZ and Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS will operate interchangeably until March 2026, when both vessels begin running separate schedules. You’ll still enjoy the same two-hour river journey, complete with traditional live jazz, craft cocktails, and beautiful city views. Don’t forget to head up to the top deck for the best lookout point.

Those 21 years and older may purchase beverages after presenting a valid photo ID with birthdate as per Louisiana law.
