Check points, free small audio guides. But the walky-talkie was bad, we heard a lot of extra noise on the background. In information pdf the information about shoeless entry to buildings is missing. Otherwise all was really great. We enjoyed the tour and it was nice to see that part of city. Tour guide was nice.

First of all i would like to mention the guide that took us to Sultanahmet Mosque and Hagia Sophia. She was very well prepared with the information that provided us, spoke a very fluent english and was very helpful in all the matters related to the tour. I also appreciated a lot the fact that she gave us ear devices, like head-phones so that we could hear her very well amid the noise of the street. She told us many many things not only about the hystorical background of the places we visited but also information related to Istanbul culture, everyday life etc. Unfortunately i did not understand her name to mention it here. She was opened to jokes and free-talk, very social and open-minded. I liked her a lot, that is the way a toursit guide has to be in related to tourists. Second, the places we visited were absolutely fantastic. I liked Hagia Sophia and its enormous size, but what truly impressed me was the Blue Mosque and the fact that we had to take-off our shoes inside the Mosque gave a sense of equality between all people. It was splendid. Next time i come to Istanbul i want to deepen my visit in the city, since now i spent only a few hours and did not have much time to visit the city itself.

La visita que hicimos fue a la Mesquita azul y a Santa Sofia. La empresa te proporciona un auricular para poder escuchar al guía. Lo que no nos gustó fue que el guia iba a toda prisa, en ocasiones se alejaba tanto que se nos desconectaba el auricular. No siempre se entendía bien lo que decía el guia y nos perdiamos en la explicación. Estuvo muy bien que no tuvimos que hacer colas y pasamos muy rápido a las dos Mesquitas. En la explicación te contaban sobre la cultura y tradiciones islámicas que es muy interesante. No estuvo mal la visita, pero sentimos que se hizo con muchas prisas y personalmente me hubiera gustado saber más datos arquitectónicos de cada Mesquitas.

What to bring

Carry a lightweight scarf or shawl so you can cover up appropriately before entering.

Blue Mosque

Bring a modest covering such as a wrap or headscarf, as you will need it inside the mosque.

Oversized bags and bulky backpacks are not permitted past security.

Blue Mosque

Large bags are restricted at the entrance, so plan to bring only small personal items.

Only the ground level is accessible for wheelchair users, since the upper gallery cannot be reached with mobility aids.

The Blue Mosque is wheelchair accessible with pathways designed to accommodate mobility needs.

Hagia Sophia

Due to ongoing renovations, certain sections of the interiors may be obstructed by scaffolding.

Women and men should avoid clothing that exposes shoulders or chest, and skirts or shorts above the knees.

Scarves and cover-ups can be purchased on-site if you do not have your own.

Expect a mandatory security check. Lines can be long, especially midday, so later hours after 4 pm are often smoother.

If you plan to use the audio guide, remember to bring your own headphones.

The first-floor prayer hall is reserved exclusively for Turkish citizens.

Opening hours are 9 am to 7:30 pm. On Fridays it closes temporarily from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm.

Blue Mosque

Ensure you follow the modest dress requirements. If you forget a scarf or cover-up, you can purchase one at the entrance.

Visiting times are available until 11 am and then again after 2 pm. On Fridays, entry is only permitted after 2 pm.
