From Krakow: Auschwitz-Birkenau Guided Tour with Transfers

Bellissimo tour, gestito benissimo. La nostra guida, Agata, è stata precisa e puntuale, molto brava e dettagliata nelle spiegazioni. Il suo italiano era perfetto, nonostante non sia italiana. La visita nei vari settori di Auschwitz 1 è stata molto toccante. Personalmente, vedere quei luoghi di morte mi ha sconvolto, specialmente quando siamo arrivati alla camera a gas con annesso crematorio 1. Mi sono emozionato anche all'inizio, in quei 7/8 minuti di tragitto in silenzio fino all'ingresso, ascoltando i nomi delle vittime che venivano scanditi a ritmo regolare e davanti al cancello con l'iscrizione in tedesco; il tour è stato comunque e nel complesso, un turbinio di emozioni in ogni singolo luogo visitato. Benché ci fossero molti gruppi, tutto si è svolto in maniera ordinata e rispettosa. A Birkenau c'era poco da vedere poichè quasi tutte le strutture sono andate distrutte. Abbiamo visitato un capannone dormitorio e uno adibito alle latrine. Successivamente, siamo arrivati fino al vagone di trasporto dei deportati, uno dei tanti, posizionato sui binari che arrivano direttamente dentro il campo. Birkenau è davvero immenso e anche solo vedere la sua estensione fa rabbrividire. Faccio i miei complimenti agli organizzatori e a tutto il personale del tour perché personalmente penso sia stata un'esperienza unica e indimenticabile, emozionante e toccante al tempo stesso. Tutto impeccabile.

I’m giving 4 stars because of the very confusing booking process. When booking, you select a departure time, but in my case it had nothing to do with the actual departure. I chose a 10:30 AM departure, but I was later informed that the real pick-up time was 5:40 AM. That’s not a minor change, and it created unnecessary stress. On top of that, finding a taxi at that hour was difficult, as several drivers cancelled or refused the ride due to the limited availability of cars. Although I was the first scheduled pick-up, the bus and the guide also arrived late. It wasn’t a long delay, but it was enough to make an already stressful morning even more worrying. That said, the guide was excellent, and the tour itself was very well organized and incredibly worthwhile. Visiting Auschwitz is a powerful and unforgettable experience that everyone should have the opportunity to experience.

The tour was very well planned from start to finish. We needed to be picked up from Krakow Glowny train station which they made very easy by picking us up at the Mercure hotel next door. Important to note that you can leave belongings on the bus when you head into Auschwitz. The tour itself was great, the museum guide Lucas was very knowledgeable and everyone in the group paid the appropriate respect to the site. Recommend bringing a bottle of water and maybe even a rain jacket to take on the tour, as Birkenau in particular has a lot of walking. Didn't take any photos except for this one as we wanted to fully immerse ourselves in understanding the history. This tour is something well worth doing and something every human should do in their lifetime. Thank you!

Picked up as described by our lovely driver, who got us there & back very safely, thank you. Anna was our tour guide around Auschwitz & Berkenau, she was fabulous. Very informative, respectful & sensitive to the shocking murders & degrading treatment suffered by human beings in that place. I visited with my 15 year old granddaughter & although it was upsetting we are both pleased we went. Everyone should visit & see for themselves to ensure this never happens again.

Een hele goed georganiseerd event. Een top gids met goede balans tussen relevante informatie geven en gepaste terughoudendheid om emotionele momenten. Als je mee gaat naar deze bestemming zul je pas echt zien hoe groot deze massadedtructie is geweest. Museum is prachtig in elkaar gezet met alle aspecten van deze vreselijke periode. Dit was geen leuk reis maar indrukwekkend is misschien we de beste omschrijving voor de trip. Zeer aanbevelingwaardig!!
