We did have a misfire on our hotel pickup time but they did correct it (after a phone call), and our actual driver was a very decent fellow. The tour itself was excellent. But, since they are very meticulous with ensuring headcount's in and out of the mine you do have some periodic wait times. The mine is absolutely fascinating.

Un luogo veramente incantevole, ne vale la pena visitarlo.Per quanto riguarda il trasporto posso dire che l'autista è stato puntuale e gentile nel prenderci in albergo e riportarci indietro.Se non arriva nessuna mail di conferma della prenotazione non vi preoccupate,vi mandano tutte le info il giorno stesso del tour via mail e whatsapp.un momento per passare una giornata diversa,il tour dura circa 2,5 tutto di fretta perché c'è sempre tanta gente.

Salt mines were great. Only comment i have - when you book you are asked for your pickup location, which we assumed is were we would be picked up from. However on the morning of our pickup 20 mins after our supposed pick up we had an email telling us pickup was at anothe location at a later time. This info about getting an email on the morning of your tour tour with the actual pickup up location and time should be stated when you book.

Meet your guide at the Kiss&Ride Parking, 2 Wielopole Street, next to the Main Post Office in Krakow. After a quick ticket check, your group will travel by air-conditioned vehicle to Wieliczka, where your guide will introduce the mine and review safety information before heading underground.

Wieliczka Salt Mine

Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Wieliczka Salt Mine dates back to the 13th century and is one of Europe’s oldest operating salt mines. This vast underground complex is renowned for its historical significance in Polish culture and its unique subterranean architecture.

What to bring

Bring comfortable shoes; there are 800 steps to climb, with 350 at the beginning descending into the mine.

Bring warm clothing, as the temperature underground ranges between 14°C and 16°C, even in summer.

Student ID is required for student tickets.

What’s not allowed

Baby strollers, baby carriages, and luggage or bags larger than 30 x 20 x 10 cm are not permitted inside the mine.

Smoking and the use of open fire in the mine are strictly forbidden.

Alcohol and drugs are not allowed.

Animals are not permitted in the mine. The mine does not offer animal shelters.

Accessibility

This experience is not suitable for people with mobility impairments or wheelchair users.

Not suitable for people with claustrophobia or heart problems.

Additional information

There are 800 steps to climb, with 350 at the beginning descending into the mine.

The start time may change due to the availability of guides in the museum; please check your plans accordingly.

Arrive at least 15 minutes before the tour starts at the designated meeting point or in front of the UNESCO sign near the Salt Mine Museum.

For options with pickup, please wait in the hotel lobby by the reception desk or in front of the main entrance if there is no reception.
