Important Information

• The use of face masks is mandatory for everyone except those who are medically exempt.

• Each infant must have a child's rail pass when they travel alone or use reserved seats.

• A rail pass is only available to adults age 12 or older when an exchange order is issued or purchased.

• Rail pass holders can accompany up to two infants (1-5 years old) for free.

• There are separate Child's rail passes for the infants from the third one.

• There is no charge for accompanying babies under the age of one.

• When using a rail pass, a passport must be carried and presented when asked.

• Rail passes are void if magnetic tickets are detached from rail passbooks.

• Passports with a "Temporary Visitor" Visa stamp on them are eligible for this offer. These products cannot be used by non-Japanese passport holders with permanent residence in Japan.

• At the major JR West stations, you can redeem your pass by selecting a redemption date and filling in your information.

• For a JR Pass, you must have a Temporary Visitor Stamp obtained at immigration. Do not pass through automated gates as you will not get a stamp
