Immensa e storica miniera di sale, oggi destinata al turismo, con all'interno ristoranti e spa, nonché una immensa sala adibita a chiesa. 380 scalini per scendere lungo un tratto tutto in legno. Altri scalini in seguito ma sempre in discesa, nonché alcuni lunghi corrodoi da percorrere. Traumatico alla fine, quando la guida finisce il suo compito, perché per raggiungere l'ascensore bisogna percorrere a gruppi circa 1km a piedi. E l'ascensore ti porta al centro della cittadina, quindi circa altri 5 minuti a piedi per tornare al parcheggio. Il tour merita e la guida in italiano è stata esaustiva. Peccato che chi resta in coda al gruppo spesso non sente dalla radio la guida. Il driver Oliver che ci ha condotto alla miniera è stato eccellente.

Naja, Hin- und Rückfahrt mit Taxi von Sylvestre war pünktlich und sehr angenehm. Die Unterhaltung erfolgte per Handyübersetzung und war problemlos. Das Salzbergwerk war wirklich sehenswert, aber die Besichtigungsgruppen mit einem deutschsprachigem Führer des Bergwerks waren deutlich zu groß. Der Führer erklärt am Beginn der Gruppe etwas, was die Besucher im hinteren Teil in den engen Gängen noch garnicht sehen können. Die Verständigung über Funkohrhörer klappt so halbwegs. Es ist eine gewisse Massenabfertigung. Bis zu unserem Besuch im September waren laut Info des Bergwerks ja auch schon 1 Million Besucher im Bergwerk.

The Wieliczka Salt Mine is a truly fascinating and unique place. The impressive underground chambers, salt sculptures, chapels and the history of the miners made the tour an unforgettable experience. Our guide, Samantha, was fantastic—friendly, engaging and very knowledgeable. She made the visit even more enjoyable. The only disappointing aspect was the “skip-the-line” description. We still had to wait in a queue for about 30 minutes, so the wording felt misleading. Despite this, the mine itself and Samantha’s excellent guidance made the tour well worth taking.

Unser Guide Eva hat unsere Tour sehr lebendig gestaltet! Ein Salzbergwerk an sich ist sehr interessant, aber dieses ist so besonders und imposant durch die Skulpturen, die Bergmänner nach ihren Schichten (!) gestaltet haben, dass man nur staunen kann! Hier sticht natürlich die Kirche hervor! Als sehr angenehm haben wir die sehr gute Luft unter Tage empfunden! Absolut empfehlenswert!

Hicimos el tour para la mina de sal y desde el momento en el que hice la reserva todo fue genial. Nos contactaron directamente para hacernos saber que la reserva habia sudo aceptada y nos trataron muy bien. El día del tour la localización y nuestro chofer del dia (Konrad), estuvo genial. El tour fue muy interesante y nuestra guía 10/10. Totalmente recomendable toda la experiencia.

Las minas de sal de Wieliczka son impresionantes. Me ha alucinado que la parte visitable turística es del 1% del total de la mina, por lo que es una mina inmensa. Es muy bonita y me parece increíble la capacidad del ser humano por construir cosas increíbles. La guía turística me ha encantado, muy buena, cuidando el grupo en todo momento y muy simpática . Sobresaliente .

A fost o experiență extraordinara. Am fost fascinati de tunelurile minelor de sare, de ceea ce poate sa existe la o adâncime atat de mare, de buna organizare pentru desfasurarea turului dar si de ghidul care ne a dat informații pretioase despre aceste locuri magnifice. Sunt foarte bucuroasă ca am reusit sa vad aceste locuri minunate.

Great tour The guide was very entertaining & informative. The cathedral space was amazing; the carvings of the altar and freezes was very special. We also enjoyed a beer in the miners cafe. Overall would highly recommend espicially on a very hot summers day or cold winter day with the mine temperature being kept a constant 18 degrees

Les mines de sel de Wieliczka est vraiment l'endroit à visiter si l'ont réside dans les alentours de Cracovie , le guide bilingue français était super drôle, mais le point de rendez-vous manque un peu de clarté mais je recommande fortement cette attraction, un emblème de l'histoire de la Pologne.

Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978, the Wieliczka Salt Mine has operated continuously since the 13th century and is one of Poland’s most treasured cultural monuments. Descend 800 stairs to explore a vast underground world, reaching a depth of 135 meters.

What to bring

Comfortable shoes are recommended.

Bring warm clothing as the temperature underground ranges between 14° and 16° C.

What’s not allowed

Luggage or large bags are not allowed inside the mine.

Luggage larger than 30 x 20 x 10 centimeters is not permitted (can be left on the bus if applicable).

Accessibility

Not suitable for wheelchair users or people with mobility impairments.

There are approximately 800 steps to climb, with 350 at the beginning to descend into the mine.

Additional information

The tour is not recommended for anyone with claustrophobia.

Maximum group size is 40 visitors per guide.

The pace and duration of guided tours are determined by visitor service regulations; duration is approximate.

Toilet facilities are spaced along the route at approximately 40 and 90 minutes from the start of the visit.

If your child is less than 150 cm tall, please inform the local partner so a child seat can be arranged.

Your pickup time and/or tour entry time may be adjusted due to venue availability; you will be informed by the activity provider if necessary.

The local partner will contact you by WhatsApp, email, or phone the day before your tour to confirm the final pickup and tour timing; please refer to your final voucher for the confirmed schedule.

If your accommodation is in Krakow’s Old Town or Kazimierz (restricted traffic zones), the nearest possible pickup point will be confirmed.

Meet at the UNESCO monument in front of the entrance to the mine if not using pickup.
