Vielen Dank.

The salt mines have to be one of the best visitor attractions anywhere. A great half day spent exploring an underground wonder. One area which could be improved is the communication between us and the tour operator. We had one txt and 3 emails informing us of two different pick up locations and 3 different times. This was both confusing could somewhat stressful wondering if we would make the trip

Punctual, pleasant informative driver Przemek who stayed with us until we entered the mine. Again waiting for us when tour finished. A great day out, everything professional and went like clockwork. Also sent a photo and reg of our pick up van which made life simpler.

A faire

The guides and driver were amazing! It was a lot of stairs but only down so that makes it easier! We loved the history. Would loved to have had a salt taste at the end of the tour.

Explore the Wieliczka Salt Mine on a guided half-day tour from Krakow with skip-the-line entry and transfers included.

Getting started

Meet your guide at the designated meeting point, or wait in your hotel lobby if you have selected the hotel transfer option. After a quick ticket check, join your group in an air-conditioned vehicle for the journey to Wieliczka. On arrival, your guide reviews safety information and explains how the guided tour will run before you head underground.

What to expect

Wieliczka Salt Mine

Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Wieliczka Salt Mine dates back to the 13th century and is one of Europe’s oldest operating salt mines. During your guided visit, you follow a set route through multiple underground levels, moving between chambers, chapels, and lakes carved entirely from rock salt.

Features

Vast underground chambers and corridors feature a network of passageways, rooms, and chapels carved from salt, revealing centuries of mining tradition and engineering.

Salt sculptures and chapels, including the Chapel of St. Kinga, display detailed religious and historical scenes shaped directly from rock salt by generations of miners.

Subterranean salt lakes shimmer under artificial lighting, creating reflections that highlight the mine’s unique geology and atmosphere.

Stories of Princess Kinga and the miners who worked here are shared by your expert guide, bringing local legends and Polish cultural history to life as you walk.

Skip-the-line entry lets your group bypass the main ticket queues, and your guided tour of the Wieliczka Salt Mine is led by a professional guide available in English, German, Italian, French, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, or Spanish, with transfers from a meeting point or round-trip hotel transfers included as per the option selected.

Wrapping up

At the end of your underground route, you return to the surface and meet your driver for the journey back to Krakow, with either transfers from the meeting point or round-trip hotel transfers arranged according to the option you selected.
