I'm Sorry, Prime Minister

Duration
Age limit
Back after 40 years, Jonathan Lynn’s sequel to the sharp, very British political satire brings back the legacy of Yes Minister. Enjoy Sir Humphrey’s devastating wit and Lord Hacker’s bumbling nature-from the 80s, now in their 80s.
Great for
Fans of British political satire | Yes Minister devotees | Lovers of comedy
Slip back into the wonderfully bureaucratic world of Jim Hacker and Sir Humphrey in the last act of Britain’s most enduring political satire. Written and directed by Jonathan Lynn, co-creator of Yes Minister, this new stage production revisits beloved characters in their twilight years, confronting retirement, relevance, and responsibility.
In the present day, I'm Sorry Prime Minister features Hacker and Appleby moving from Downing Street to Oxford academia, where old rivalries resurface and new truths come to light. With decades of catchphrases and chaos behind them, can this legendary duo still outwit the system one last time?
A twelve-week limited run, this Apollo Theatre run follows its world premiere at the Barn Theatre in Cirencester and offers a fitting tribute to the late Antony Jay. A must-see for fans of classic British wit and those who never stopped asking: “Yes, Prime Minister?”
The Story
Jim Hacker, the former Prime Minister, has retired to a posh Oxford college bearing his name. But when his lifetime role as Master is threatened due to a dinner speech scandal, he calls upon his old nemesis-turned-friend, Sir Humphrey Appleby. Together, they navigate the traps of cancel culture, generational divides, and their own fading grip on power. Book your tickets for British bureaucratic shenanigans once again!

Couple予約確認済み2026年5月5/5Humphrey and Hacket ( the PM please forgive me Sir) were brilliantly casted and acted down to the last detail, with the perfect mixture of disdain, arrogance and yet hidden affection for each other. All done with the same intellectual comedy and under currents as the TV series decades ago, but with a reflective criticism to the recent past depicting the effects, not only of Brexit but the massive changes in Society and political correctness in Britain / but "en Passant" and again in an intelectually humorlos fahion without lecturing the ausdünne, but very skillfully amusing the audience - with a certain droht an nostalgia. Such a brilliant performance - down to the last physical, Intonational and vocal and expressive Detail. I had the priviledge of sittig in the Stalls 2. row and marvelled not only at the energy and indirect fun made of the architypal civil servant but the Detail of each mimick, Intonation and control (or acted fading control) of the two elderly men reflecting on their past with self appreciation - and Humphrey taking all credit for himself and arrgantly looking dow upon the PM with wonderful (usual) Seide and perfectly timed and executed witty remarks. All credit to the brilliant acting and Script. In my opinion it even tops the TV series, due to the superb acting and that is the highest and in This case just accolade to the actors.KKathryn S
