A Few Highlights
Plugging in your headphones, explore the Chapel on the second floor, famous for its beautiful stained glass windows, and walk along the chambers that were once quarters for soldiers & officers, while listening to captivating stories, historical information, and fascinating anecdotes. Admire the stunning interiors of Manueline-style architecture, decorated with intricate stone carvings that depict maritime motifs, such as ropes, anchors, and sea monsters. Discover how the tower was originally built on a small island in the Tagus River, but over time, a shift in the riverbank has caused it to connect to the mainland. Climb up to the terrace of the tower, accessible via a narrow spiral staircase. It offers spectacular views of the Tagus River and the surrounding area, including the Jerónimos Monastery and the Monument to the Discoveries!
