Le monastère est magnifique. Il est très agréable de se promener dans le château, de monter sur les remparts et d admirer le fleuve depuis les points de vue, notamment depuis le restaurant où nous avons pris notre repas.

Tudo muito bem cuidado. Entramos no horário marcado, fila organizada. A visita é guiada por algumas placas, assim facilita o trânsito de pessoas evitando pessoas andando para todos os lados.

We learned the hard way: trying one day to get into the Monastery by simply waiting in line only to run out of time and having to give up. Booking tickets online with Headout guaranteed us entry, while selecting the exact time we wanted, allowing us to better plan our day. It basically took the headache out of planning, and who wants a headache on a holiday!?

Castle was delightful, wonderful views, and so peaceful too. Peacocks an added bonus and walking around the surrounding area was also fab. Once inside the monastery .... wow oh wow oh wow. Breathtaking stonemasonary. But be prepared for the queues. It's supposed to be better after 4.00pm but can't confirm. Ps the famous pasteis de belem is next door.

Did not have to wait in a line at all! The staff were very helpful and got us a wheelchair to rent for my mom who has limited mobility. Such a gorgeous piece of history and a must see for anyone who loves gothic architecture.
    • See Lisbon from two angles in one outing, pairing a splashy 90-minute Hippotrip tour with time inside the magnificent Jerónimos Monastery in Belém.

    • Clatter through Lisbon’s hilly streets before your vehicle slips into the Tagus River on a 90-minute amphibious tour with live commentary in English and Portuguese.

    • Wander through Jerónimos Monastery, Belém’s UNESCO-listed showstopper, where carved cloisters and the church of Santa Maria de Belém reward slow exploration.

    • Skip the fuss of juggling separate plans with one combo that bundles your Hippotrip ride and monastery visit neatly into a single booking.

Even with a timed ticket, the line is brutal. And the website and ticket descriptions don't actually tell you the details of your visit, so you think you are set and then you arrive and find out there's a whole other separate ticketed area that you don't have access to. There's very little visual education provided at the venue, so the experience is nearly contextless without an audio guide.
