Visiting São Jorge Castle was one of the highlights of our trip to Lisbon. The views from the top are absolutely stunning—you can see the whole city, the river, and those beautiful red rooftops. It really feels like stepping back in time with all the old walls and history around you. One of the most unique and memorable parts was seeing peacocks just walking around freely inside the castle grounds. They were so calm and beautiful, adding a special charm to the place. It’s not something you expect, and it made the experience even more magical. The atmosphere is very relaxing, perfect for walking around, taking photos, and just enjoying the scenery. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Lisbon!

The castle is really remarkable. The view of lisboa alone make it worth it, but it's also full of history and great spots to take photos. They even have beautiful peacocks inside.

It was a climb to get there but worth it for the views. Best to get your online tickets before you go, in order to avoid the lines. There are peacocks everywhere and even saw several hens with chicks. Disappointed that three archaeological dig was routed off. That would have been interesting. But overall we're glad we went
