From Cairns [Cruise Out, Scenic Flight Back]: Half Day Moore Reef Tour with Activities & Lunch

Explore Moore Reef on a half-day tour that combines 2.5 hours of reef activities with a ferry cruise out and a 25-minute helicopter flight back.

Getting started

Check in at the Sunlover Cruises counter between 7:00 am and 7:30 am, then make your way to the Reef Fleet Terminal. Boarding for your ferry transfers closes at 7:45 am before departure from Cairns Marina at 8:00 am. You cruise out toward Moore Reef, arriving at about 9:30 am to begin your reef time.

Located on the Great Barrier Reef, Moore Reef is where you spend approximately 2.5 hours of reef time enjoying in-water and onboard activities before flying back to Cairns.

Features

• During your 2.5 hours reef time at Moore Reef, you can use the waterslide, relax on the sundeck, and let younger children enjoy the dedicated kids toddler ocean pool. The underwater observatory offers a dry viewing option to watch marine life around the reef.

• Snorkelling equipment, including mask, fins, snorkel, lycra suit, and lifejacket, is provided so you can get into the water without arranging your own gear. You also have access to a glass bottom boat and semi-submersible tour, which are weather dependent, to see the coral and fish from different viewpoints.

• Your trip includes ferry transfers out to Moore Reef and a helicopter flight from Moore Reef to Cairns Airport of approximately 25 minutes, combining two transport modes in one half-day tour. A courtesy transfer to Cairns Marina with Zoom Helicopters is included after you arrive at General Aviation Cairns Airport.

• Fuel surcharge costs are already covered in the displayed price, with the helicopter surcharge of $20 per person and the boat surcharge of $5 per adult and $2.50 per child. Transfers, optional extras, and transport from the airport to your accommodation are not included, so you make your own arrangements after the tour.

Wrapping up

Your helicopter departs Moore Reef at 11:50 am and arrives at General Aviation Cairns Airport at about 12:15 pm. From there, the courtesy transfer returns you to Cairns Marina, and you then organize your own transport back to your accommodation.
