I loved Mircea our tour guide, he was so funny and kind and I loved his touring style. It was just brutally hot and although I know 3 hours is long it was hard to process a lot of the information in such a short period of time because there is just way too much history to digest in a quick tour. I wouldn't change the length of time and I appreciate the ease of meet up and getting to go underground! I just wish it was less pricey with these third parties and that there was time to just roam and take pictures only because we all know that that is a desire these days. Otherwise it was a birthday blast for me!

The underground tour had to be changed as the Colloseum had changed its programme. However, we were offered a number of alternatives and accepted a semi-private tour of the Colloseum, including the floor and upper levels, with a ticket for the forum and Palatine Hill included. Andre, our guide, was superb and had an extensive knowledge of the Colloseum building, its place in Rome's social structure and how it was used. Nothing threw him and he was able to adjust the tour to ensure our interests were well covered. He also provided guidance on getting the best out of our remaining time in the Colloseum, Forum and Palatine once he had left us. Worth every penny and significantly enhanced our experience.

The ticket was modified, I did not see the underground but was replaced by a small group (7 people) tour with groundfloor, 1st and 2nd floor. The guide, Georgia, was excellent, with detailed explanations and visuals about the Colosseum history.

Really knowledgeable guide but the underground section was really rushed by the colusseum guide. He seemed to want to get it over with really quickly..

Fantastic afternoon at the Colleseum, we'll worth the money for the underground experience. From the beginning being checked off at the meeting point by a lovely young man to setting off with Antonello. He was most informative, great humor and lots of extra information like places to eat. Would definitely recommend the underground experience. Crowds not too bad for 1pm and Antonello made sure we were on time for our slot. A few checks of paperwork and a bag scan were easy. Just make sure your name matches your id.
