What a wonderful experience! La Cisterna is truly fantastic, and I recommend it to anyone visiting the city—it has an incredible atmosphere. The Bosphorus cruise was a bit crowded, but it was absolutely worth it because the sunset cruise was nothing short of stunning and offered an amazing view.

Basilica cistern was really cool, underwater cave earthy vibes with water and turquoise and mirrored vibes, and then topkapi palace with endless exploration and history. I also woke up late accidentally but had the flexibility with the audio guides. Great day!

Last week

We bought the ticket in the app, which helped us get in faster. However, the person who was supposed to help us at the entrance was not easy to find. After we left, that person was nowhere to be seen. I wonder how others were supposed to get in with a fast-track ticket?

Excellent Istanbul Experience – Highly Recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We booked the Basilica Cistern Skip-the-Line Ticket + Bosphorus Sightseeing Cruise through Headout, and overall it was a fantastic experience. The skip-the-line access to the Basilica Cistern was extremely convenient and saved us a lot of time, especially with the crowds. The cistern itself was beautiful and fascinating, with its unique architecture and atmosphere. The Bosphorus cruise was another highlight. The views of Istanbul’s European and Asian sides, historic landmarks, and the beautiful coastline were absolutely stunning. It was a relaxing way to see the city from a different perspective. The entrance was very chaotic. At the turnstiles, there was a girl who only spoke Turkish and made us waste a lot of time. Then, once we identified the right person, we managed to get inside. It's not so much your service, but the fact that the assistance staff doesn't speak English. In the middle of all that chaos, it gets difficult.

The entrance has a ramp, and a wheelchair platform lift is available at the exit on Alemdar Street.

Some parts of the Basilica Cistern have uneven floors. Keep this in mind if you are a visitor with mobility difficulties.

The cruise is partially wheelchair accessible, but it’s recommended to contact in advance for special arrangements, as there may be limitations due to the boat’s design.

Your ticket allows you to skip the ticket queue, but all visitors must go through a security check. During the peak summer season (June to August), this can take up to 30 minutes, so plan accordingly.

Bosphorus cruise

The cruise departs near tram line no. 1 and the funicular, just steps from Dolmabahce Palace. Look for the Istanbul Welcome Card ticket window behind the red petrol station.

The Bosphorus cruise boats depart every hour. Arrive at least 15 to 20 minutes early to avoid rushing and settle in comfortably.
