• Visitors are not permitted in certain areas during prayer times.

• Flash photography is not allowed.

• Visitors are required to dress modestly – so please cover your head, shoulders and knees. Women are also required to wear scarves.

Blue Mosque

• Shoes must be taken off before entering and cannot be worn inside the mosque.

Accessibility

Basilica Cistern

• A ramp provides access at the entrance, and there’s a platform lift at the exit on Alemdar Street.

• The flooring inside the Basilica Cistern is uneven. Please keep this in mind before booking tickets if you are a visitor with limited mobility.

Hagia Sophia

• The ground floor is accessible via ramps. The Upper Gallery, however, is not currently wheelchair accessible due to its historic staircases.

Blue Mosque

• The courtyard and main prayer hall are wheelchair accessible.

• The mosque has a smooth, open layout that ensures visitors in wheelchairs can navigate comfortably.
