Getting started

Your day begins early, and your meeting point depends on the option you’ve selected:

For the hot air balloon ride without transportation, you must arrive at Aerodiverti Teotihuacan Balloon Port (55850 San Martín de las Pirámides, Méx., México) at either 6am or 7:30am, depending on your booking. It is important to arrive on time to allow for check-in and pre-flight safety procedures.

For the hot air balloon ride with transportation, meet at Citibanamex, Ángel de la Independencia, Mexico City, at 5am. Here, you will board a shared transfer to the balloon port.

For the full experience, including a guided tour of Teotihuacán and the Basilica of Guadalupe, the meeting point remains the same at Citibanamex, with transportation provided throughout the day.

Upon arrival at the balloon port, you will check in and be assigned to your balloon. A briefing will cover safety instructions, the boarding process, and what to expect during the flight. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy a light coffee or tea while the balloons are prepared for departure.

Hot air balloon ride

Float over the Pyramid of the Sun, the Pyramid of the Moon, and the Avenue of the Dead, the same views that ancient Teotihuacános once revered.

See the Magical Towns of San Martín de las Pirámides and San Juan Teotihuacán from the sky.

Teotihuacán (with guided tour)

Walk the same paths as ancient civilizations with your bilingual guide.

Learn about the city's rituals, cosmology, and architectural marvels, and stop at a local obsidian workshop to watch artisans craft volcanic rock and sample a traditional drink.

Basilica de Guadalupe (with guided tour)

One of the most visited Catholic pilgrimage sites in the world, the Basilica honors Our Lady of Guadalupe across the Old Basilica, New Basilica, and a series of sacred chapels and monuments.

Your guide will walk you through its spiritual and architectural significance.

Wrapping up

If you selected only the hot air balloon ride, you are free to continue exploring the area at your own pace after breakfast.

If you booked the transportation option, you will be taken back to the original meeting point at Citibanamex, Ángel de la Independencia in Mexico City.

For those who chose the extended tour, you have the option to be dropped off at the Basilica of Guadalupe and explore on your own after the guided visit. If you prefer, you can return with the group to the original meeting point.

What to bring

Passport or ID – Required for check-in.

Warm layers – Early mornings in Teotihuacán can be cold, but temperatures rise quickly.

Sunscreen and sunglasses – There is minimal shade, and the sun can be strong.

Closed-toe shoes – The terrain is uneven, and comfortable footwear is recommended.

What’s not allowed

High heels, sandals, or flip-flops – For safety reasons, only closed-toe shoes are permitted.

Luggage or large bags – Storage is not available, and large items are not allowed on the balloon.

Selfie sticks or any object that extends outside the balloon basket – For safety reasons, these are strictly prohibited.

Backpacks and bulky items on the balloon – Space inside the basket is limited.

Accessibility and restrictions

This experience is not suitable for:

Children under 4 years old.

Pregnant women.

Anyone with mobility impairments or requiring a wheelchair.

Anyone with high blood pressure, respiratory issues, or heart conditions.

Important details

Flight duration: 30 to 50 minutes, depending on weather conditions.

As mandated by the Mexican government, you must provide your full name, weight, and any health conditions before your hot air balloon ride. If you weigh over 100kg, an additional fee will be charged for each extra kilo.

Weather dependency: Flights are subject to weather conditions. If the weather is unsuitable, the flight may be delayed or rescheduled.

Meeting points:

Without transportation: Arrive at Balloon’s Paradise; Vuelos en Globo Aerostático Balloon Port in San Martín de las Pirámides, Estado de México. Please make sure you arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled time.

With transportation: Meet at Citibanamex, Ángel de la Independencia, Mexico City at 5am.

Drop-off:

If you selected the balloon ride with a guided tour of Teotihuacán and Basilica of Guadalupe, drop-off will be at the original meeting point. However, you can choose to stay at the Basilica of Guadalupe and return on your own.

Additional information

The maximum weight allowed per person for the balloon ride is 150 kg.

You must provide your full name, weight, and any health conditions when booking.

You will receive a flight certificate after completing the balloon ride.

Professional photographs are not included but may be available for purchase.

If you selected the guided tour, expect a moderate amount of walking through Teotihuacán and the Basilica.

Your voucher will be emailed to you shortly.
