The tour was very informative showing us parts of Meteora that you would not have found looking around by ourselves. We generally do not like group tours but this was great with Vasilis providing lots of details topped off with a sense of humour. Would highly recommend.

The tour was really well organised and the guide was really entertaining! The only point that needs to be improved is the possibility to have access to the contact of the local organiser or a direct chat with him on the app.

It was not the first time for me visiting Meteora monastiries, but they are always breathtaking in my opinion. Highlight for the toor we the "novelitis" : Yannis, our guide, the curch and the sunset

Esperienza molto bella, la guida veramente molto preparata. Ci sono venuti a prendere in hotel ed è comodo perché poi non c'è parcheggio per le auto nei punti d'interesse.

Kloster Bartolomeo war sehr schön und sehenswert, der Reiseführer hat ganz interessante Geschichte erzählt, allerdings viel zu oberflächlich und kurz.

Ho prenotato la visita al tramonto. Il minibus mi ha preso e riportato all'albergo. Nikolaos è stato un'ottima guida, preparato e attento a che tutti capissero e fossero a proprio agio. Georgios è stato un super autista. Interessante tutto, dalla visita ai monasteri, con l'ingresso a quello di santo Stefano, ai punti panoramici, alla chiesa bizantina. E, dulcis in fundo, il tramonto da un punto di belvedere

El guía explica genial y hace el tour súper ameno. Se hacen paradas para hacer fotos con vistas a los monasterios, los cuales también son preciosos por dentro y muy bien conservados.

What to bring

Bring some cash for any purchases, as credit card facilities may not be available.

Opt for sturdy shoes with good grip, as paths can be uneven and include many steps.

Carry water and light snacks, especially during warmer months (June to August).

Don’t forget to bring your own earphones and a fully charged phone to listen to the audio guides comfortably.

The Meteora monasteries follow a strict dress code. Men must wear long pants; women need long skirts and shoulder coverage. Sleeveless tops and shorts are not allowed.

What's not allowed

While outdoor photography is generally permitted, refrain from taking photos inside churches and of monks or nuns unless explicitly allowed.

Flying drones is prohibited without special permission due to privacy concerns and wildlife protection.

Accessibility

Meteora is not wheelchair accessible. All monasteries involve steps or inclined paths.

If you have mobility constraints, consider visiting monasteries like St. Stephen’s, which has a paved path and minimal stairs.

Additional information

Basic toilets are available at larger monasteries (Great Meteoron, Varlaam, St. Stephen) and may require a small tip.
