I went with my partner on a rainy Sunday and honestly, this place made our whole trip. The building is GORGEOUS, like, you feel the history in the walls (and that graffitied staircase is wild). We started at the top (take the elevator, trust me) and wandered down – each floor had a totally different vibe, some super moody, some bright and kinda cheeky. The staff were suuuper nice, one even gave us tips for the best photo spots inside, but heads up, you can't snap pics in some galleries. The rooftop bar was such a cool surprise – cocktails are pricey but worth it for the view. Not too crowded when we went, just some art students sketching in corners. Would come again for sure, maybe next time with friends.

If you're into photography at all, this is a must. We spent like 2.5 hours just soaking it all in. Each floor is different, the curation is really thoughtful. There was a live DJ in the courtyard when we left, which was an unexpected bonus. Also pro tip: the bathrooms are honestly some of the cleanest I've seen in Berlin (yeah, I notice these things).

Such a unique place! I took my mum and she was skeptical (she normally hates modern art), but she loved it. The staff was super helpful, even explained some of the pieces to us. We got coffee at the cafe after – strong and tasty. Only negative is the stairs are a bit much if you have mobility issues, but there’s an elevator if you ask.

Went solo on a whim! Loved the Toiletpaper exhibit (hilarious and weird and sorta made me think about stuff I normally don't?). The crowd was mostly artsy folks, but super chill. The big windows let in a ton of light and make the art pop. Only thing – the gift shop is a TRAP (left with 3 photography books I didn't plan for).

What to bring

Ticket: Bring a digital or printed ticket to show at the entry.

What’s not allowed

Sharp objects: Tripods, selfie sticks, GoPro cameras, and other pointed or bulky objects are not allowed in the exhibition halls.

Bicycles: Bicycles and pedal scooters are not permitted inside the museum.

Food: Food is not permitted, except for a small portion required for medical reasons.

Plastic: Personal plastic bottles or beverage cartons over 500 ml are not permitted.

Weapons: Do not bring weapons, pepper spray, or objects that could be used as weapons or projectiles.

Flash: Flash photography is not permitted in the exhibition halls.

Smoking: Smoking is prohibited throughout the building.

Accessibility

Guide dogs: Guide dogs and assistance dogs are permitted throughout the museum.

Wheelchair: All guest areas are wheelchair accessible, with elevators providing access to every floor. A museum wheelchair can be reserved at least three business days before your visit.

Bathrooms: Accessible bathrooms are available throughout the building.

Assistance: Visitors who need assistance can bring one companion free of charge.

Cash-free: Fotografiska Berlin is cash-free and accepts Visa, Mastercard, Amex, EC, debit cards, Apple Pay, and PayPal.

Children: Children aged 12 and under enter free when accompanied by an adult.

Content: Exhibitions may contain explicit content, so parents or guardians should check suitability for children.

Dogs: Dogs are allowed in most museum areas.

Photography: Photography is allowed in the exhibitions without flash.

Re-entry: Exhibition tickets are valid for the day of your visit; ask staff about re-entry if you plan to leave and return.

Benches: Benches are available in the exhibition halls for visitors who need to rest.

Bathrooms: Gender-neutral toilets are available on the 5th floor.

Facilities: Lockers available for small to medium-sized bags (large suitcases are not permitted).
