The museum itself was absolutely incredible, but my experience with Headout was awful. I purchased two identical tickets, but only one of them scanned successfully at the entrance. I was told that the other ticket had apparently already been used on 22 October at 13:00, even though my visit was on 28 October 2026 and I had not used it before. As a result, I had to purchase another ticket on the spot, which was both frustrating and disappointing. I contacted Headout’s customer service through the app, but received no response or assistance whatsoever. When something goes wrong with a booking, you expect customer support to help resolve the issue, especially when you have already paid for your tickets. Unfortunately, I was left to deal with the problem myself and pay again. The museum, on the other hand, was incredible. It is absolutely enormous and can feel quite overwhelming, so I highly recommend getting the audio guide to help you navigate the experience and make the most of your visit. In short: the museum was fantastic, but Headout’s ticketing experience and customer service were extremely disappointing. I would recommend visiting the museum, but I would think twice before booking through this app again.

Lets get the good things out in the open. Tickets worked perfectly and the BEST time to go is before the hordes are taken through in waves by flag waving guides. The building is futistic and modern but the staircase is pretty inaccessible to the infirm and many of the statues are not named. There is plenty of space around each exhibit. The boat reconstruction was probably the most interesting. And the bad.... well, terrible signage with far too many assumptions. There is no clear flow of time and little or no information on how, when or where exhibits were found. The moving staircase is horrid with sudden change to elevation, particularly on down sections. The shop is poor value with ghastly, tacky souvenirs and overpriced books Would I visit again? Yes, again first thing. Would I engage a guide? No. Totally unnecessary for anyone with an interest in history. Save your money for a guide to the Pyramids and choose as small a group as possible

The Great Egyptian Museum at Giza is an architectural marvel and a dream come true for any history buff. The modern and airy spaces offer breathtaking views of the nearby pyramids. The biggest attraction is the complete Tutankhamun collection, displayed together in one place for the first time, along with thousands of previously unknown artifacts. The superbly crafted interactive exhibition and perfect lighting will draw everyone into ancient Egypt. It is an unparalleled cultural experience that is worth experiencing for yourself.

The GEM portal is notoriously awful. Headout secured the tickets with next day tickets 🎟 which worked a treat. Slightly more expensive but it works! GEM is the most accessible, well organised and exciting museum we have aeen...ever!

There is no point to buy the skip the line tickets as they don't have such facility at the museum. Everyone need to queue to get into the museum and there is no such a thing as "skip the line".

Overall, everything went well. We had no issues with the tickets, whether for access to the pyramids or the museum. The app simplifies purchasing tickets, but unfortunately, it is much cheaper if you go through the official websites—still a €50 difference in total for us.
