Visiting Hvammsvik yesterday was a massive highlight of our time in Iceland. The setup of the different temperature pools right on the edge of the ocean is spectacular! You get the amazing contrast of the hot geothermal water and the crisp sea air. The facilities are very clean, the staff is welcoming, and the vibe is purely relaxing. It’s absolutely worth the drive out from Reykjavík. Highly recommend

We have had the privedge of travleing to Icleand 10 times. We discovered this hidden gem a couple of years ago, and now we go everytine we are here. This is our favoirte hot springs BY FAR! ANd yes we have been to numerous other ones but this one is special. It is a must do in our opinion! Also has a great cafe.

A stunning location and wonderful atmosphere. You couldn't ask for better on a beautiful day. There is no swimsuit spinner, which is an oversight that they should remedy.

The weather was gorgeous the day we were at Hvammsvik. The springs were enjoyable especially with the swim up bar. It was nice to have the ocean right there for my husband to cold plunge in. I do wish the changing areas had a machine to dry bathing suits.

Overall a very nice experience. Top situation close to the sea/fjord. Expensive compared to i.e. Laugarás Lagoon, where you get nicer architecture for your money. Cleaning of changing rooms and towel service at the sauna should be given more attention. You suggest to add photos, but cellphones are not allowed in the baths. Although many people don't follow this rule and like to call home on video to show them sitting in a hot pot sipping a beer...

Hvammsvík Hot Springs was easily one of the highlights of our trip to Iceland. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by the most breathtaking scenery — mountains, the ocean, and the peaceful beauty of Icelandic nature all around us. What makes Hvammsvík so special is that it feels completely connected to its surroundings. Sitting in the warm geothermal water while looking out over the fjord was a truly magical experience. Each pool had its own atmosphere and temperature, and the combination of relaxation, nature, and tranquility made it unlike any other hot spring we visited. The facilities were beautiful, the staff were welcoming, and the entire experience felt thoughtful and authentic. We especially loved the feeling of being somewhere peaceful and untouched rather than just another tourist attraction.

Accessibility

Hvammsvík Hot Springs are wheelchair and pushchair accessible, with wheelchair-accessible facilities available.

Guests with back or cardiac issues are advised to avoid entering the pools.

Additional information

The tour departs from the BSÍ Bus Terminal in Reykjavík city center. The transfer to Hvammsvík takes around 1 hour.

If you choose hotel pick-up, be sure to select your preferred pick-up location when booking.

Gender-neutral changing facilities are provided.

This experience is restricted to guests aged 10 and above.

Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

For a 10:30am departure, the return is at 2pm, while for a 5pm departure, the return is at 8:30pm.

Towels and wading shoes are not included but are available for rent.

Pools have varying depths and temperatures.

The site may have rocky or uneven areas.
