The true surprise at Versailles was the Hameau de la Reine, the rustic village dreamed up and built for Marie Antoinette. The stone and timber cottages, with their thatched roofs, seem as though they have stepped out of a pastoral fairy tale. Around them lie simple gardens, a quiet pond with swans, and small arched bridges—all composing a tableau of unexpected delicacy. There, far from the rigid etiquette of the court, the queen found her refuge, dreaming of an idyllic life away from the oppressive splendor of the palace. The fairy-tale atmosphere, filled with tranquility and natural charm, stands in sharp contrast to the cold monumentality of Versailles and remains, perhaps, the most authentic part of the estate.

The Splendour of Versailles The Palace of Versailles is a breathtaking testament to French opulence and history, renowned worldwide for its sheer grandeur. Visitors are immediately struck by the dazzling Hall of Mirrors and the majestic royal apartments within the palace itself. Beyond the main château, the Gardens of Versailles offer an exquisite landscape of meticulously manicured lawns, ornate fountains, and spectacular geometric designs that stretch for miles. The entire estate also encompasses the charm of the Petit Trianon and the Grand Trianon, which offer a more intimate, yet equally elegant, glimpse into the private lives of French royalty.

The tickets booked corresponded to the possible accesses to visit the Palace of Versailles and its surroundings. However, we only benefited (fortunately for us) from the official rate (€32.00) when we booked a special time slot....when you advertised the other time slots at higher rates.... The Versailles site offices find this situation highly unusual.... Finally, in our case, we were lucky enough to avoid a surcharge that would have left us with the bitter taste of having been "ripped off". In future, we'll be even more careful to ensure that we only visit sites officially recognized as such.

Although there were really many people at the entrance, entry was quick and easy via an extra line. The castle itself was very impressive, although the crowds often blocked the view and you just had to walk along with the masses. Smaller groups would definitely be nicer here to enjoy the experience. It is simply impossible to see everything, the castle is far too big for that. The gardens, however, were very relaxing and with the music, the fountains of the fountains and the whole landscape you were transported to another world.

We visited on a Sunday, and it was extremely busy. The business put us off a little. The gardens were lovely, and the hidden cafe in them was a good find. The water show was a little disappointing as it just seemed to be switching on the regular water fountains .The timed entry access was very easy to use.

Buying the tickets was easy and access was on time. I especially loved the outdoor spaces, especially the freedom to move around them. The best part of the experience was visiting the village of Rainha with all its surroundings, including the animals, the vegetable gardens and the friendliness of the people.

Impressive castle and garden. Interesting information about the audio guide in the castle. Well-maintained grounds. Good organization of the visitor crowds. Only criticism: far too few and very dirty toilets around the castle.
  • Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower received nationwide criticism during its early years, but since then, it has gone on to become the national monument of France and an international symbol of love. Take the stairs to the 2nd level of the Eiffel Tower, giving you a near-perfect aerial view of iconic Parisian landmarks such as the Arc de Triomphe, Seine River, Montmartre district, Notre Dame, Champs Elysees, the Louvre, Trocadero Gardens, and so on. After your 1-hr guided tour, bask in the beauty of this remarkable landmark for as long as you'd like!

The Seine River Sightseeing Cruise will give you a chance to take in Paris's most famous landmarks, including the Notre Dame Cathedral, Eiffel Tower, Conciergerie, Institut de France, Grand Palais, Musée d’Orsay, Hôtel de Vile, Cite de la Mode, Invalides, the Assemblee Nationale, and the Place de la Concorde.

    Palace of Versailles

Begin your visit by exploring the ornate King and Queen's State Apartments. Learn about the French monarchy and peek into the private lives of the infamous King Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette. Next, make your way to the glittering Hall of Mirrors. Designed to protect the ornate walls and ceilings from smoke, the hall’s 357 mirrors were strategically placed to reflect the light of candles.

After admiring the inside of the Palace, head outdoors and take in the grandeur of the estate’s impressive architecture. Stroll along the cobblestone grounds, through the beautiful French gardens, and pass by the gorgeous Versailles fountains. Next, stop by the Estate of Marie Antoinette and discover the life and antics of the Queen at the Petit Trianon. Walk around the Village of the Queen and English gardens, then see where Marie Antoinette built her own house, a Mill, a Preparation Dairy, a Cave, a Belvedere, and the magnificent Temple of Love where lovers get engage. At the Carrosses Gallery, travel back in time as you explore carriages, coaches, sculptures, and other artifacts left behind by the French Monarch.
