I really enjoyed the after-hours tour of Schönbrunn Palace followed by the Mozart and Strauss concert. Visiting the palace after closing time was a special experience, although I wish the tour had been a little longer. I was also disappointed that the museum shop was already closed, so there was no opportunity to buy souvenirs or books. The concert was excellent and definitely the highlight of the evening. The musicians were wonderful, and the conductor made the performance especially enjoyable by interacting with the audience and creating a lively and entertaining atmosphere. Overall, it was a memorable evening and a wonderful way to experience Schönbrunn and classical music in Vienna. Highly recommended!

Classical concert at Schönbrunn Orangery

Once you're done with the tour, head to the Schönbrunn Orangery, where the magic of music awaits. Settle into your seat, choosing from various seating options, and prepare to be swept away by a breathtaking 2-hour concert. The talented chamber ensemble will deliver mesmerizing performances of Mozart and Strauss, bringing their timeless compositions to life in the magnificent setting of the orangery. This masterful concert will beautifully round off your evening, leaving you with an unforgettable experience that combines culture, history, and world-class music.

What to bring

Bring your voucher or digital ticket along with a valid photo ID to the Orangery entrance, as ticket collection is mandatory and strictly enforced.

Carry a small amount of cash if you are not a VIP ticket holder, as the cloakroom fee for non-VIP guests is €1.

Pack a light jacket or shawl, as the indoor venue can feel cool even during summer evenings.

What’s not allowed

Photography or video recording of the performance is strictly prohibited.

Outside food or drinks are not permitted inside the concert venue; refreshments are available in the concert bar.

While there is no strict dress code enforcement, sportswear, trainers, and overly casual attire are discouraged. Wear smart casuals or semi-formals.

Accessibility

The Orangery of Schönbrunn Palace offers full wheelchair accessibility, including ramps, barrier-free facilities, and accessible toilets.

Sign-language guides and other special accommodations are available upon request.

Additional information

Book your tickets at least 2 to 3 weeks in advance, especially during the busy months of May to September and in December, as concerts often sell out.

The concert is usually held in the historic Orangery Schönbrunn, located to the left of the grand entrance, once used by the imperial court for grand banquets and performances. On certain dates, the concert may be moved to other prestigious locations within Schönbrunn Palace.

You can collect your concert tickets in person at the Orangery from 10am to 6:30pm, or later from 7pm to 8:30pm at the box office of the evening’s concert venue.

The performance begins at 8:30pm and lasts approximately 105 minutes, including an intermission.

During the intermission, guests are welcome to visit the bar for refreshments or stroll through the Orangery Garden when it is open during the warmer months.

Parking is available directly in front of the Orangery until midnight for an additional fee.

Cloakroom service is free for VIP ticket holders; all other guests need to pay a €1 fee.
