The story

Rusty, a brave steam engine, finds himself locked in a high-stakes competition against Greaseball, a ruthless diesel spewing fumes of arrogance, and Electra, a sleek electric powerhouse. Their ultimate prize? The coveted affection of Pearl, a glamorous observation car. But amidst the screech of metal wheels and the roar of engines, a deeper question lingers: can a love story survive in a world obsessed with speed and victory? Will Rusty defy the odds and capture Pearl's heart? Book your tickets to Starlight Express in London and discover the answer for yourself.

on-stage energy was through the roof - which led to audience energy reciprocating. Saw the original version, which was why I wanted to see this ... different staging ... different times. Still extremely entertaining. My only complaint was that the company numbers were so loud that you couldn't really make out the voies or the lyrics.
