SoloVerified booking6 days ago5/5I arrived late because the 435 bus wasn't running, so I took the 434 bus since someone told me it would be a 5-minute walk—but in the end, I had to walk 20 minutes. It's okay, though, because they let me in at the last minute. I’m really glad I got the audio guide because Quinta da Regaleira is very large, and it helped me figure out what to see in a specific order more easily and avoid getting lost. I found the audio guide very useful and interesting! (Especially the little tips.) I really liked the first cave, which is bright inside, and the passages and caves that seem secret (the labyrinth cave is scary, but I thought it was super cool to go through it). Quinta da Regaleira is well worth the price—there’s so much to discover. The Headout website offers tips for your visit (wear appropriate shoes since there’s a lot of walking, bring water, sunscreen, etc.). I chose the 12:30 p.m. time slot and was able to finish everything by 5:40 p.m. (while taking lots of photos and taking a short break to sit down). I don’t regret booking through this site at all—especially since the audio guide is just an extra €2!AAnalisa T
FamilyVerified bookingJul 20265/5Such a gorgeous and mystical place to wander and explore. The initiation well and the caves were the kids favorite. The grounds and detail were spectacular. We had an audio tour with our tickets but didn't see specifics on how to get that so unfortunately, we missed out on that. Next time, I would opt for a guide.JJavier M
CoupleVerified bookingJul 20265/5Spectacular site; admission was super easy—my ticket scanned without a problem when I visited. The audio guide is essential; it explains everything very well, even though the tour covers a lot of ground and there’s so much to see inside this estate. A 10CCynthia R
GroupVerified booking2 weeks ago5/5Everything was incredible—a magical place with lots of energy. The best parts were the maze and the well. The food at the restaurant was very good. Thank youIIsabella R
FamilyVerified booking3 days ago5/5We really enjoyed/loved this trip! The place itself was incredible. Even if it was 36 degrees you could stay in the shadow and enjoy this place! We arrived way too early, and there's no café/vending machine while waiting (but a toilet!). (There's a café/place where you can eat while you are inside) there are also cafés if you choose to go down again to the nearest place. As it says in the email, download your audio guide Before coming to Quinta! 🙃 (otherwise you can stil buy an audioguide at the entrance for 5 € per device. A Must see place I have to say! But book tickets in advance, they were totally sold out on the day we were there! We will sure be back here sometime ! The Headout app worked great! (Download the tickets so you can access them without internet but there's a wifi at the entrance at least, people got helped at least)
Quinta da Regaleira
Get ready for a Romantic castle, chapel, and opulent park with lakes, grottoes, wells, benches, fountains, and a wide variety of wonderful structures that make up the property. There are five stories in the palace including a ground floor, three upper floors, and a basement. The living room, dining room, billiards room, balcony, a few smaller rooms, and a number of stairs are all connected by a network of halls on the ground level. There are extensive tunnels, a Chapel, Park, Initiation Wells, Lakes, fountains, and the aquarium and whatnot spread over the property.
Monserrate Palace & Park
The Monserrate Palace, or Palácio de Monserrate, is an opulent mansion close to Sintra, the traditional summer retreat of the Portuguese court, in the hills overlooking the Atlantic Ocean north of the country's capital, Lisbon.
Afonso Henriques is said to have constructed a chapel to the Virgin Mary during the reconquest of Sintra (circa 1093). On top of the hill, another church “Our Lady of Monserrate” or “Virgin of Montserrat” was built in 1540 on top of its ruins. The terrace opens up to a spacious park. With a lake, several springs and fountains, grottoes, and an abundance of rare kinds of vegetation, it is built in a romantic manner. Plants from all around the world are arranged in the garden according to region. Araucaria and palm trees, tree ferns from Australia and New Zealand, strawberry and holly bushes, cork oaks, and agave and yucca plants from Mexico are among the local native plants that may be found.
