The fastest and best way to get there is to use the transportation options available throughout the city, whether it’s a tuk-tuk or a shared ride; the drivers are very friendly and will give you useful tips on what to see and how to plan your visits. The park is amazing, and the palace is SPLENDID—though there were some lines and a bit of a wait since it was early July—but it’s definitely worth the visit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you’re in the Lisbon area.

    The Palace was beautiful but was a little crowded. The Moorish Castle was amazing! It felt like I went back in time! The "hop on, hope off" bus was frustrating and made me angry. We were told one would come every 10 min but we aired at least 20-30m at the moorish castle and when it arrived it was full and only able to fit 5 people as 5had gotten off. We stopped for lunch at the historic center and when we tried to get on a bus to go back to the trajin station that was just sitting there we were told it was reserved and we would have to wait. We decided to walk back and still beat the bus. Over all it was a waste of money. Get and uber or another car for the one way up and walk down if you are able. I wish I could have got a refund as they certainly did not fulfill their advertised deal!

    Palácio da Pena For me, the Palácio da Pena is the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re in a fairy tale. The exterior is spectacular and the views are incredible, but the crowds can take away some of its charm. It’s worth seeing at least once for the unique atmosphere and for the photos. Quinta da Regaleira I found Quinta da Regaleira to be more special. It doesn’t impress with its grandeur, but with its mystery. The tunnels, gardens, and the Initiation Well give you the feeling that you’re uncovering a hidden secret. It’s one of those places that stays with you long after you leave. If I had to choose just one, I’d go back to Regaleira. Pena impressed me, but Regaleira enchanted me.

    We loved the Pena Palace. It was magnificent despite the fog and the cold in June. However, we couldn’t go to Quinta da Regaleira. The police had blocked the entrance. A tuk-tuk or private car costs €10 per person; there were four of us, so it would have been €80 for the round trip, which is outrageous. One of us has a disability, so it was impossible to walk up. Bottom line: we couldn’t take the tour even though we had tickets. Very disappointed.

    Worth the money. These two locations are worth all the walk. The gardens/grounds are just as amazing as the inside of the palaces. The well was very cool when you think about the secret society element. Give your self plenty of time to see each, took us about 2.5 at penna palace and the same at Regaledia. If your walking it does take about 45mins to walk down too without stops so factor that in before setting up times
