We rode along the Grand Canal, admired the palaces from the water, and the trip to the Lido was a special delight. Just 15-20 minutes from San Marco, and you're on a beautiful beach on the Adriatic. Returning in the evening at sunset is simply magical! Convenient, romantic, and very atmospheric. The 24-hour pass was a real lifesaver and saved me money. We hadn't done our research properly and ended up buying tickets for the Doge's Palace just one day before our visit.
