Planning your day

Universal Studios Singapore is an expansive theme park with a lot of attractions, shows and rides. Each zone focuses on a particular theme and all zones have activities for all age groups. To cover the entire park you will need to spend an entire day here.

Ideally, arrive at the gates by 9:40 am and ensure you’re one of the first to enter the park. The first thing you must do is pick up the program sheet from the entrance. This will help you figure out the timings for the various shows and meet-n-greet events.

The park shape makes it easy to explore as all the zones are along the circumference of the lake. For you to explore all the zones, follow a cyclic route. However, long queues are a common sight at the park so we recommend narrowing down your ‘must-do’ rides and finishing them first. An early lunch will allow you to enjoy the park while the crowds are engaged in their meals. Be sure to not try out the roller coasters and thrill-based events immediately after lunch.

The peak hours of the park are from 11:00 am - 6:30 pm so be prepared to find long queues. The Universal Studios Universal Express Pass will allow you to skip-the-line at some attractions. If your visit is on a weekend or a public holiday, be sure to buy these tickets as they will greatly save your time.

After 7:00 the park reaches a relaxed atmosphere and this is when you should redo all your favorite rides. Pick up some souvenirs at the many stores through the park before you leave and take plenty of pictures. Do carry extra batteries and spare memory cards for your camera if needed.

Know Before You Go

  • Know the layout of the park before you go. You can always use the Universal Studios Singapore Map.
  • A daily program sheet will be available at the entrance for you to pick up and plan your day.
  • Choose your ‘must-do’ rides beforehand and try to wrap them up before the queues get too long.
  • Carry a poncho/waterproof clothing for the water rides and ziplocks for your digital equipment.
  • Locker facilities, ATMs, baby centers and nursing rooms are all available for use within Universal Studios Singapore.
  • Wear a comfortable outfit with walking shoes as you will be walking around the park.
  • The theme park is specially outfitted to accommodate individuals with disabilities and impaired movement. Check out the Rider’s Guide for further details.
  • If it's your birthday, be sure to collect your gift with your Universal Studios Singapore tickets and a valid photo ID at the Guest Services Lobby.
  • Most rides have a minimum height requirement of 125 cms and children must be accompanied by adults on such rides. Families with young children may opt for the child swap program which can be found in the Rider’s Guide.

  • Arrive early to beat the queues. The best time to visit the park is during the weekdays when everyone’s off to work or school.
  • Eat light and regularly as the intensive activities are bound to leave you hungry.
  • All shows happen only at a specific time so make full use of your program sheet to not miss anything.
  • Explore the park in a particular order, either clockwise or anti-clockwise, to ensure you cover all attractions and rides.
  • Try to wear pants/shorts with zipper pockets. Defying gravity with open pockets is not a good idea unless it’s a cartoon.
  • Certain rides have longer queues than the others, these include the Battlestar Galactica, Revenge of the Mummy, TRANSFORMERS The Ride, Canopy Flyer and more. Be sure to conquer these early or after 7 when the park has the least rush.
  • Finish the roller coasters before lunch, your experience is certain to be better and cleaner this way.
  • Ensure you don’t carry big backpacks and carry-ons. They only get in the way of fun.

What People Are Saying About Universal Studios

Sarah K

A day well spent :D

My family and I really had a ball here. We arrived at the park at around 11 am, which was the perfect time although it got crowded pretty soon. The tickets we got from Headout allowed us immediate access into the park while others were stuck at the admission gate. Once within the park everything has its own life. The Battlestar Galactica is a must-try ride. My kids especially loved the ‘Madagascar’ zone and did not want to leave the theme park ever. All in all, the perfect way to spend my day with family.

Thrill and excitement on Sentosa Island

We arrived at USS slightly later than planned. But thanks to Headout we could skip the line at the admission gate. USS is a must-visit! The entire theme park feels like you’re in a movie. Everything is picture perfect and the rides... they’re just mindblowingly fun! This is what we needed to recharge ourselves. Couldn’t have asked for more.
