Must do tour! We were fortune enough to get a tour guide from the Basilica who was extremely knowledgeable on not only the Basilica, but also the history and meaning leading to its creation! Just Wow! Please note that you still will have long lines for entry even with skip the line option, for understandable security measures. Once you see this place, you will wonder why it's not more highly guarded. Also tour meeting points / guides need to be better about wearing what they say they will be wearing, and meeting when they say they will. If we are required to be there a half hour early, they should be also, as well as standing out /wearing colors as described!

We had an incredibly knowledgeable guide who made the experience a memorable moment for the whole family. We had visited the church before without our children, but without a guide. Having an English-speaking guide made the visit a completely different experience for both adults and children. We came away not only with new knowledge, but also with a very enjoyable time.

Our guide Eduardo was excellent. Very knowledgeable. I didn't tell him but I am a professor of theology and history and am delighted to say that I learned a great deal from him. He was friendly and very professional. He put such energy into the tour. We were suprised and delighted. We will strongly recommend this tour to the many people we know.

"Peter" our guide turned out to be exceptional - we learnt so much from him, and he was helpful and supportive to less able members of the group. However the promise of skipping the usual lines and visit to papal tombs included in the ticket info and price - and for which we had booked, did not materialise. The timeline estimates of the tour finish also turned out to be varied and sketchy, and a warning to others not to book another tour afterwards on the same day - it is not guaranteed that you will know the end time. The visit and tour were fantastic, but a warning to others - i dont believe there is any possibility of skipping the usual lines.

What I liked the most was that Peter's tour was conducted, his knowledge, professionalism and passion with which he talked about history and art was amazing and only compensated for the organisational shortcomings. Rating for Peter 5/5 organisation 0.5/5 . Regards
