The story
The story tells the life of a young girl, Matilda. The musical begins with her birth and moves on to describe her unhappy upbringing as she lives with her TV-addicted family and bears their constant abuse. She is an intelligent child who loves reading even though her family believes that it is a complete waste of one’s time. Due to the abuse she faces Matilda often plays pranks on people aided by her telekinetic powers. Soon, she develops a strong friendship with her teacher Miss Honey, who admires Matilda’s intellect and almost magical abilities. The lead roles were outstanding, especially Ms Honey & Matilda in my opinion. Loved the musical backing / orchestra. Staging / coriography was exceptional.
